RE: First Day Duel in the Desert...thoughts?

AASCF give Bids to the DITD comp from the winners of our State Championships in Australia and this year had 2 teams from Cheer Victoria - AUSTRALIAN OUTLAWS Small Jr 2 and Large Senior 2 make the LONG and expensive trek to compete against the best of the West Coast USA teams.

We love this comp for its great atmosphere and for the fact that it is on the West coast so we dont have to pay additional airfares to compete in the East.

As cheer in Australia is still in its infancy our kids had the trip of a lifetime as they view the USA cheerleaders as their idols and they loved the fact that they were able to mingle with thousands of kids who shared their love and passion for the sport.

We were very proud of our teams as the Small Jnr 2 (which only had 13 members as the whole squad of 22 could not afford the $5000 each to make the trip) came away with 2nd to Cali AS and Large Senior 2 did well with a 6th.

To clarify these teams were 100% coached and choreographed by Australian coaches and whilst small in Aust we are raising our skill levels for both our athletes and coaches and look forward to competing at many more USA comps in the future -we are sending 8 teams to the Worlds (cheer & dance) this year so look out for us and give us a cheer and say G'day to our kids as they would be thrilled to meet any of the US kids.

Our Nationals (125+ teams) is in November every year which we move the location around the country and cordially invite any USA teams who wants a "destination" event and experience of a lifetime to consider making the trek down under sometime... you will not be disappointed. Cheers
