what's done is done. whether you agree with jamz's decision or not will not change the fact who got the paid bids. i'm pretty sure regardless of these opposing comments/opinions, legend will be happily riding that train on a full paid bid to worlds!!
I was told that Desert Storm actually had a higher score, but there was some weird reasoning to why Fierce got it. The person said it was explained to her but she did not get it. Not to take anything away from Fierce, but it would be nice to understand. And agree with the comment above saying why then not give it to PCM? If anyone knows and would care to explain would be SO GREAT
VIA FIERCE BOARD
Desert Storm international open coed 5 - 92.19 Fierce limited coed 5 - 92.77
Hope this clears up your confusion.

Bad sportsmanship is making your gym look bad! No need to bash other gyms. Its obvious fierce has a harder routine and scored higher. They are an amazing team with so much talent! California teams need to be ready to go to worlds and dominate as a state and not be poor sports and bashing eachother. We are one talented state and need to come together and get ready for the west coast to take over Florida. Fierce your bid was WELL deserved. Jamz has two amazing coed 5 teams going to represent their name, the two teams they want to represent them. Congrats to all bid winners!

Well said and so right! It's sad that all west coast teams can't see the bigger picture and support one another...especially when it's time to travel to Orlando. All of these gyms have so much talent and many are still evolving. We need to come together and represent the west coast with a united front for once...
i know, wishful thinking... A mom can wish though right? lol I sincerely wish all of these kids/adult team members/ parents the best. I'm proud to be a Fierce parent and am so very proud of all of our West Coast gyms. To the young members who post from an emotional standpoint, we respect your views and opinions. We just ask that you post in a responsible manner.

Not a big fan of the jamz scoring system. I just don't think having each judge judging every category of a routine gives an accurate read of a routine. Also the lack of a scoring rubric leaves a lot of scores a mystery with the scores seeming almost random. We at vca encountered a lot of inconsistency with the judging on the four teams we brought, with virtually every judge having teams ranked differently in several divisions. Reading some of these score sheets it seems like each judge was watching a different routine. I know that in the future we won't be returning to this competition.
I have been to Jamz for 4 yrs now...I have no clue about the scoring or the judges...I am just a mom....but I love love love the way Jamz makes it so special for the kids and makes such a huge production...the Jamz staff is amazing...my family loves this comp.....it was a fun weekend.....:)
I have never like this comp, the scoring is strange in some divisions it's a clean routine that wins, in others it's difficulty, In some who knows what they are looking at. In some cases teams with less tumbling had higher tumbling scores than teams with more (even before any deductions). This is one comp you never can guess the outcome. Even if you score weird at least be consistant. Dont be so sloppy. I don't understand how teams that did better on Sat and had issues on Sun would score higher on Sunday? The awards ceremonies are ridiculous, I feel like it's the JAMZ staff showcase. The stage should be for the athletes, it's long and just too much of a circus.
Chrisvauthority: after reading your post it does make a little more sense. You are right no way can a judge, judge every category. They see things that aren't even there or don't see things that are there. This company started out as thee place for Jr All American and their scoring system shows that's where their expertise truely is. We too are never going again.
I also can't stand the venue, there are many other places that could accomodate this comp that don't give you lung cancer when you walk around to get something to eat, and it's not like you can walk next door to go eat. Amercian Grand, nice clean venue..charges less to get in. Spirit Sports, nice clean venue charges less to get in. Not really into Jamtastics
There is scoring rubric. It's comparable to the Varsity scoring rubric.
Here's the link to the rubric: http://www.jamz.com/pdf/1011/1011CHAMPS_CG_ASCheer_Scoring_web.pdf
Everyone has a problem with one competition company or another and the way they score. We at Fierce have never had any problems with JAMZ. In general though (IMO) I think that all scoring rubrics out there lack consistency and fairness. I'm not sure if anyone remembers the OLD scoring rubric from Spirit Sports in year 2009 (I think? Could be 2008?) ... ? It was a complete breakdown and left no room for error or confusion. I wish I still had the printout of the rubric because it can no longer be found online. I remember for the most part, it looked like this:
So basically you automatically are placed into a category depending on what you perform, then scored in that catergory depending on your execution. So TEAM A, a level 3 team of 20 members, throws majority (11+) standing series BHS they can at LOWEST score a 7.5 or at highest score a 8.5. If TEAM A has bent legs or off timing, judges will score them in the lower range. If TEAM A has great timing and straight legs, judges will score them in the higher range.
I think if everything was broken down to the point like the example given above - there would be no room for questions. I would already know where my team was going to fall into before competing and that would help me put together my routine in each category.

wether you're complaining if fierce deserved the bid or not it doesnt matter you WEREN'T the judge and probably for the same reason you're complaining is why you prob WONT be in the future.. get over it ya'll whinning isnt going to take the bid away from them its done and over with.. LegendKatz went out there and did their best and even though they dropped they still earned that bid no matter if you like it or NOT!
on a lighter night congrats to everyone on Legendkatz! and good luck to everyon else!

Agreed with the rest of the posts, we will not be attending Jamz Nationals or Championships in the future. The scoring and judging is not good in any means. The comments are all over the place and judging is inconsistent.
Cea dropped and they were world champions -_______-
Yes but everything else was absolutely amazing. They have the difficulty, their jumps all hit at the same time, tumbling skills, really awesome pyramid, and of course their stunts. CEA is just AMAZING.
Thats like fierce. Imo im not even from that gym and im defending them so much. I dont get what people didnt see in there routine there amazing performers! :D and i love tp watch them do there thing because thats what they do best and they were rewarded for it with a paid bid :) love you fierce.
