To all Cheerleader teams Gym 1 Mach 5th level 3 coed small didn't get second we fought the deductions and itseeme that we got first place instead of spirit inferno heat level 3 SM.. Well that being said GYM 1 is first place, judge had mistaken even though we can't go back and be recognized as 1st place champions we know we got 1st baby... Love you all. :)
I do have to say, however, I was very disappointed by something I witnessed (and heard about from parents in the audience)...A team was performing and during their performance one of their girls vomited on the stage. Afterwards, no one from their team bothered to notify anyone and no one from the competition staff noticed to clean it up. The next team had to perform and tumble in vomit. Girls had it on their shoes and hands. Then the competition staff came out and cleaned it up...Backstage, apparently the team that had vomited was discussing it (maybe they were worried they would get in trouble?) and the COACH said (in front of girls from the team who had to perform in the vomit) to her team "Oh don't worry about it-if anyone receives deductions, it will be them!" This kind of bad sportsmanship is so disappointing-especially being displayed by a coach. And, just as important, safety and health was disregarded.
I am not associated with either team but was sitting next to parents from the affected team. The competition was very fortunate that no one was hurt as this was a level 2 team and someone could have gotten very hurt tumbling through that mess...
But again, a great competition...

I find it amazing how untrue words travel so fast. That was my level 2 team that you are talking about, and we told the staff at the competition several times that one of our girls got sick as we where trying to take care of her. Yes a mom asked if we would get a deduction and yes I said of course not, it was not her fault....She was sick all night and still got out there on that stage and stuck it out for her team.I WAS SO PROUD OF HER. She was so upset about it, and felt bad already. I cant believe that people would say such bull. I am one to say when we did wrong and what you are saying is so far from the truth, by the way her name is Kailee and she is a great kid and that was her first big competition and she looked up to all those big teams on that floor and thought every team was great...to bad others are so quick to say mean words... And I for one thought everyone of those kids out there on that floor from the smallest to the oldest did a wonderful job and did their gym proud. Stand by each other....and don't spread rumors....there is to many other things in life to worry about.
It was great having Central Coast up here to compete. They showed an enormous amount of class on day 2. After having a bit of a disappointing performance they stood to the side of the floor and watched the last team in their division perform. They clapped during their dance section and cheered for them when the routine ended. The sign of an awesome gym, awesome coaches, and awesome parenting is when he kids can hold their head high when they're the heaviest. Congrats on a great weekend CC. Come back to Nor Cal soon.your kind is always welcome here.

What I said was not untrue-and while I am not saying that what you are saying is untrue, there are always two sides to every story. Also, even if you did tell the competition staff, the staff was at fault for not cleaning it up IMMEDIATELY. And your staff (in the spirit of good sportsmanship and responsibility) should have sent someone out on stage to make sure that no one competed until the mess was cleaned up. You should have apologized to the other gym for not making sure it was cleaned up afterwards. We are all there for the kids and displaying good sportsmanship and being safety minded is key.
The next team did get it on their shoes and hands and your team (girls) were laughing at the team that got it on their hands and shoes. That is not cool.
I never said anything about your team's performance-in fact, I was watching and thought you guys were great! I never even saw the throwing up because I was busy watching all of the action so please don't assume that there are sour grapes or anything else involved. My and the parents involved main issues were for safety and also the sportsmanship issues. Imagine the problems the competition would have had if one of the girls had fallen and gotten seriously hurt?
I was not spreading rumors-I was there and talked to the people involved.

That's great sportsmanship-but they should have also applied that same idea to the team that had to compete in vomit. A simple apology/acknowledgement would probably have sufficed. If they had taken responsibility immediately by making sure that no one competed until it was cleaned up, that would have made them look even better. As parents, we spend a lot of money on this sport and don't appreciate the competition staff and other coaches not looking out for the safety and well-being of ALL of the cheerleaders competing (instead of just their own team).
