GSSA Super Six Comp. Facility issues

I have to say that I have been coming to this competition for several years and I was frustrated this year.  It cost me $65 to get in, (not to mention the comp fees already paid to my program) and the viewing area was horrible, we had such a hard time getting to a spot to see.  The side viewing area was small and not adequate.  The sound system was very hard to hear.  The awards room was dangerous to get into once they opened the doors to get in.  Overall I was not happy at all with anything outside of the cheerleaders effort, they all did great.disbelief

I totally agree, I don't like that they block off the front of the stage. I had a couple issues watching my teams because people didn't want to leave and atleast when the have you in the front of the stage they clear them out for the next team!

Couldn't agree more J.J.--so glad you posted. What were they thinking with the viewing area and absolutely NO front viewing? I was tempted to call the fire marshal about both the hallway and the award room. Way, too crowded. At times it was impossible to even get through the halls because of all the cheerleaders sitting. It was really, really bad--I even thought some little girl could easily get trampled. Also, in this economy, I certainly would have thought more food options would been available. Why would everything close at 4pm, and why would there be a 1 hour wait for a Starbucks--come on. Next year, I'm going to have a stand outside with freshly brewed coffee and reasonably priced healthy food--I'll make a million dollars!

I completely agree with you, especially the part about the awards room. What a nightmare and what a fire hazard! I also thought they needed to get the awards ceremony over with quicker, it lagged on and on and on. Just announce the winners and move on. No more needless chit chat!

I wouldn't know about the awards--I had to leave the room because I was claustrophobic and felt uncomfortable being so crammed in!!

I agree as well. I had to push my way through crowds just to get to see the other teams at my gym compete. The awards room was way way WAY too small, they definitely should have broken the awards up into smaller groups if they knew they had such a small room. Other than that, I really liked this comp.
