my daughter and her friend swear to me that they saw some moms wearing "m.i.l.f." shirts at last weeks comp at usc. can that be right? if so--that's awful--shame on those moms
I saw them at USC GSSA competition, they were Fierce shirts. The M.I.L.F. stood for something although I can't remember what as I had my jaw dropped to the floor while looking at it. In my opinion I thought it was in poor taste.
Thanks to those who replied....I lost the bet with my daughter. By the way--I'm a high school teacher and unfortunately know all to well what M.I.L.F and F.M.L mean. This may sound mean, but I should have figured it was Fierce--the same club that have the suggestive dances and who just wore their pink spankies to a comp...not in good taste, and I don't think it legitimizes our sport. If we want to be taken as serious athletes, parents and athletes need to act as such.
I'm a Fierce parent and while I don't own a MILF tee I do own an FML tee, "Fierce, My Life." I respect the opinions of those who've posted but I think you go overboard SuzyB by stating 'you should've known better.' Those who choose to wear the clothing have made individual decisions to do so. Don't disrespect the group as a whole because of it. That's all I'll say on the subject.
I like them, they are the same as the Fierce My Life shirts. They may not be for everyone, but they are just funny shirts. I have seen worse from other gyms.
I'm not trying to attack fierce as a gym but one of the coaches was wearing a really really really short dress and nylons and I believe that was innapropriate, also the milf shirts are too much! We all know what a milf and fml means c'mon they make an individual decission but your still representing Fierce as a gym! But hey its your thing just know that there's younger kids out there not just the kids at your gym. And I wouldn't want anyone on my minis or juniors team asking what a milf is!
Sorry to say it but i think that is just so trashy whatever the intension is , majority of people know what those sayings mean and stand for. Just find it not smart to be wearing shirts like that where young kids are present , even if FML and MILF stand for something else its just not appropriate for a cheer competition. But hey kinda no suprise coming from Fierce, very entertaining teams but jeeze just have some class.

Haha The first thing I said when this thread was posted was "I bet that was fierce" then when someone said who it was I said "No Surprise"
Who cares what shirts a certain gym has? You don't represent that gym so why do you care? Why are yall making threads about Fierces shirts when that comp was 3 weeks ago? Do you really have nothing better to do? I think posting threads about other gyms talking trash is "not classy" so speak for yourself! Fierce keep doin what you do, your gym is one of the most talented and you are the nicest ladies around! Don't let snooty cheer moms sitting behind a computer all day get you down! :)

IMO, regardless of who the gym is, these shirts are not appropriate. Regardless of what the acrostic is saying ON the shirt, everyone knows what it means originally, which is why it was picked to begin with and that is a little tasteless.
While I like the fierce gym as a whole, i do believe these shirts are NOT appropriate at all. Fierce is known for being more on the flashy side but those shirts are trashy. Sorry Fierce, but you are sending the wrong message to your kids! iIthink you may have crossed the line on this one. But on a positive note, your teams are looking great!!!

Well WCCheer I don't care about the shirts, I care about what is being portrayed on them and the fact that my daughter had her friends and family come watch her and they saw those shirts while at the competition then asking me and all their parents when they got home what FML and MILF mean . It's just innapopriate non the less I'm mortified just hearing that out of younger girls mouths , it's no attack on one gym , it just comes to a point of whats appropriate and that when you are in a public setting it's different than wearing something like that around the gym for example. Point is we all know it was meant to get peoples attention however while some may find it cute and a good idea, others find it vulgar, suggestive and in poor taste.
I feel that you guys are taking it the wrong way, if its not your team shirt dont worry about, like just think of it as" that aint my business", and keep moving forward ,if it bothered you so much ask them about it, im pretty sure they will tell you what it means , im just keeping that 100.
I can think of 10 things off the top of my head that I would want my daughter exposed to in this athletic activity. A T-Shirt is pretty far down the list unfortunately.

we are all entitled to our opinion regarding the shirt.....personally if they feel good wearing it at a public venue thet should be ready to handle the the good and bad opinions that come along with it.
