So my family has been doing this for the past two years or so... We happened to stumble across a website called Anysoldier.com where soldiers from all over post little things about themselves, their other soldiers and supplies that they need. These soldiers are from the Air Force, Navy, Marines, Army and everything in between. We have sent over 200 boxes overseas to nearly 65 different troops. There have also been a couple soldiers that my family has had a strong bond with and tend to send more to. During the holiday time, many of the soldiers post saying that all they want is for someone to write them a letter to show that they are still alive. All they want is really someone to talk to... a little acknowledgment is all they want. So what we do during the holidays is we get a bunch of Christmas cards and send them to the Elementary schools and high schools and have the kids fill them out and then we send them to random troops to show that we still care. This season however, I decided to try and have even mooooooore people get involved. I did this by taking to Nelson down at OC All Stars and had him compile a video for us and some cards to be sent overseas. The video that he made is going to be sent all over the country of Iraq to all the different bases. If anyone else is interested in having their gym do this just putting together a video to show that we really do care about our soldiers.... let me know!!!! It provides such a great feeling to them over there and they truly feel appreciated!!!! You can email me at Skaterboi4230@aol.com or just respond on here and I can fill you in on all the details!!! Thank you!!!
Here is the Video that OC All Stars have created for my family to send overseas!!!
Happy Holidays!!! <3

What you're doing for the troops overseas is wonderful. I love the video OC All Stars made. However, you may want to correct the typo "sacrafice" to sacrifice. I was employed on an Army base overseas (many years ago) and I remember how excited everyone would get whenever someone received a package from the states. Your thoughts and good wishes will definitely be appreciated.
Great idea!! My husband is currently in Afghanistan for 7 months and has 3 children who cheer on an all star team. I know he would enjoy kids from all star gyms saying thank you. I have sent him letters from children in my kids class at school and he got a laugh from them (you should see some of the things they write about) . He said he loved them and they made his day. They are completly in the middle of nowhere and do the same thing everyday. So every little bit of excitement, I know is appreciated. I know there are many girls at our gym who have parents who are away right now and I know to them it would even make it special. Great idea!!!!
So if you want to send them out and look up on the website the troops and what not.... go to Anysoldier.com and click on where to send. It will show something that says SOldier Addresses.... just click that and the list will load. THe best thing to do is just address them to the soldier that shows up but in the letters write Dear SOldier. Usually we just got a flat rate box and stuffed it with cards and mailed them out with a little note saying pass these around to your troop!!! iT really means a lot to them and i am so glad that more people are planning on getting involved!!! feel free to email me with any questions!!! Thanks!!!!
