So I just checked out the pics from the sacramento comp. and American Cheer senior team performed with two 20 year old men! Those were the same guys from Stars Extreme & Xtreme Elite and they both aged out last year. I heard that American did stuff like that (changing birth certificates, etc.) but never personally knew it was true ( I know these two guys) or thought it would be that blatant. Were all the coaches & teams that competed aware of that? Maybe they okayed it with John and the other teams since they competed by themselves but I thought that was a big no no......... Totally confused...

I dont think you should start accusing people of stuff with out knowing the facts. You dont know why those boys were on the team. You dont know if they were filling or not?? Maybe you should go to the source before you come on the boards starting drama.

Not accusing. I know the facts. They were at the same gyms I was......filling in or not, I dont believe that is fair for any other teams/coaches/gyms/parents etc....
oh yeah is that why you used them last year,so were you aware that you guys cheated too?
aha wow before you start coming out on american cheer make sure your hands are clean. dont hate on American be happy they are representing as the best team in Bakersfield.

They were both 19 years old last year and they were both bummed they aged out of the senior division this year. Plenty of people know them (and their birthdays)
I think that's their international team, because I looked at the pictures and there is more than just two twenty year olds. Maybe they accidentally put them in the wrong division.
Just to clear the "AIR" and STOP the Quote un Quote "Stupid, Childish, Negativity here in Northern California"
1. There were two teams at my event that notified me that they had injuries or people that quit their team in the past week. One was American COED 5, and one was Riptide COED 4. Both teams filled in those spots with members that were from their international team or staff. Both teams were in divisions by themselves, Both teams were going to be scored by the judges for constructive feedback for the future, and Both teams were not going to be eligible for any Grand Champion Awards. 2. The proper way to handle any situation like this is to...1. Make sure you know that they are violating the age requirements, 2. Talk to the event producer regarding it. This was the case with one of the above teams this weekend, and I then proceeded to inform the person questioning the team of what had happened and ALL WAS SQUASHED. 3. What is the Northern California All-Star Alliance doing? Most of the gyms within the NCAA are helping to self regulate our teams. WE are providing each other with photo id's and birth certificates on members, and then finally as the case with my competition, we selected 12 teams in random draw to actually physically go get checked. 4. What is going to happen to other gyms in the alliance and outside the alliance that are NOT doing that process?Well for starters I can tell you that I will question, those programs I feel are violating the process and will approach the event producer, and force them (event producers) to act on it.As the state director of California for the USASF, I feel it is my obligation to ensure that the rules are followed by everyone, even event producers. There are too many people following the guidelines to allow those that aren't to get away with it.However, if you are one that is going to question the age / legitimacy, be prepared for the backlash that will follow.IE. the event producer will notify that gym that you turned them in.In the end everyone in Northern California will follow the rules as they were written!
If anyone out there has any questions regarding rules, ages, etc please submit them to me.IF I can't answer them for you I will get them answered by the "powers that be"However PLEASE make sure you are a coach or a gym owner, I will not be fielding questions from random parents.
Danny this should end this thread regarding American! Please close this thread
For future questions regarding athletes of American Cheer, I ask that folks contact us first before disparaging our club publicly. We and our students deserve that respect. As owner, I guarantee that no program of ours will ever knowingly break the rules... and my staff supports that position.
American's Mission Statement is to "Teach children strong VALUES, help them set highGOALS based on those values, and to teach them LIFE SKILLSto achieve those goals." By Life Skills we refer to Honesty, Team Work, Dedication, Responsibility, Good Sportsmanship, and other similar values that make us good neighbors and citizens. "Winning" is not one of those values, training with the goal of winning is (1 Corin. 9: 24-27).
