In my post when I said difficulty wise, I didn't mean to take anything away from Fierce. I have always loved Fierce. I also said the video was VERY hard to see, not to mention since it was a showcase and their first performance there are bound to be things that are watered down or things that need to be worked out. I am so excited to see you guys compete and trust me I am hoping everyone NAILS their routines so we can show everyone what the West Coast can do!
This is totally JMO.
Between PCM and OC difficulty wise (It is unfair to put FIERCE into the mix, we'll have to wait until this weekend) OC is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. They have definitely stepped up their tumbling. I didn't see a jump to tuck sequence. I saw 3 toe touches but no tuck afterwards. They did do one jump to tuck, but only about 12 girls did the tuck. The only stunting sequence I saw was a full up to heel stretch to arabesque double down. I'm not going to count fulls, layouts, doubles. But the tumbling looks better than last year. The dance is OK it's a little slow but cleanly executed.
PCM in my opinion has the difficulty factor but lacks the execution. It was obvious they had some bailed tumbling passes which I think really hurt them. We'll have to see at this comp, what is up with running tumbling. I don't know what to call their first stunt. It was a half turn tick tock to heel stretch, full turn press(???) to scorpian then to scale double down. WHEW! Then they had 6 groups do straight up arabesque double down. They had the jumps to tuck. I like the pyramid, very different. The jump to the split on the sholders, ouch, but cool. The dance was very fast paced. Overall, it was a fun routine to watch!
I am sure all teams are working hard to torque their routines to hit the scoresheet. Should be a great comp!

And since the video is bad.... I will throw in my two cents, since like you said it would be unfair to make a judgement: First of all, nothing was watered down at all. We said, this is the true test, go out and hit it. The only things that didn't go was one of our kids landed wrong on her back 30 minutes before the performance so we told her not to tumble. So she marked a transitional trick/flip, double hsp full, and she's the last tumbling pass. We also had 6 doubles thrown at open house, some fell, some landed. Not sure what we will end up telling them to do come Saturday, as it will depend on tonights practice. Partner stunt is hard to see, but full up to front stretch, to over stretch... reload to ball up scorpion. (if you watch closely you can see the center flyer do it as she is the one who ball ups the best). Pyramid, no matter how creative is going to score well depending on "transitional elements", inversions, and hitting at the top. 3 flips, 3 hits at the top, and 2 transitional elements. 4 hitch kick doubles. And full squad 3 jumps to tuck - minus 2 people? So that is our difficutly... in case you just cant tell whats going on in the video.

First of all I said the video was hard to see, which is why I didn't see half the things you described in your account of the routine, which is why I didn't comment on it. Your routine sounds very ambitious and VERY difficult. Can't wait to see it on the matt. As I stated before I have always like Fierce, so I really hope you didn't take my post in a bad way!Good luck everyone! I guess we will see very soon what shakes out. I wouldn't be suprised to see a few changes in everyone's routines.
Yes, CaliPrincess...I have seen this in a Coed, I just hadn't seen it with an all girl yet.

I saw i clear video from the showcase and i was wondering why the middle stunt group always does something different than the rest The middle one fulls up from a smush while the other 4 "fake up" from the ground then the middle one balls up from a smush while the other 2/4 express up from the ground???
BTW I hope hat girl that tweked her ankle in the front basket was ok. I saw her sort of limping around after that
And same for the ball up and express up section. Its still being molded together piece by piece. I think everything is staying the same for this weekend though. And thank you for asking, lil Melissa Kim is doing well now. It was just a tweak right before the performance and we didn't want to push it. She's back in all her tumbling and doing well.

I watched all three videos again and I still think OC will probably win. Their timing and execution is better than the other two teams. Their formations seem pretty on and when they jump, it's all together. Fierce has triple toe backs, but its almost like each girl is for their own... They all do the skill, but at their own times, closely together, but not synchronized.
Anyways, it should be a great competition! Good Luck everyone!
bad news its prob going to be raining in SD on Saturday
LAME I hope it doesent. I really want to go to this competition I havent been in a few years but for some reason i remember athletes having to go outside for warmups??? I hope thats still not the case.
You're right, last year there were teams warming up outside. I just assumed that it was an overflow area and there was a smaller warm up area inside (?). I hope this is the case. If I remember correctly it was also a frezing cold and rainy weekend last year. Be sure to bundle up and drive safely everyone.
I think I read on the website that they are anticipating bad weather so the practice area will be inside. Just go to the NCA website regarding this competition.
