Level 4.2 :new:

This division hurts the senior 5, 4, 3, and 2.  Why would I want to be a 3 or a 2 when I can stunt at a 4 level.  What is my incentive to work on my running tuck and standing tuck. It is easier just to give up and be a 4.2.

If I was at a gym on a level 2 why would I stay there if I can go to the next gym and be on a 4.

How are you going to develop a senior 3, 4, and 5 without the progression of the tumbling.  How does this division effect all star cheerleading three years from now?  Did USASF stop to think about this?

It would have been better to create a non-tumbling division.

This division hurts gyms that follow proper progressions.  Isn't that why USASF was created; for progressions, safety, and to create further grow of the sport?

Trying to understand how this division is being used, would any gym who has this division care to share if they are using level 4 crossovers, and if the tumblers are truly level 2?  It just seems odd that there are so many athletes who cant tumble but have no problem with level 4 stunts.

Stunting and tumbling are not the same thing.  Look at high school teams.  There are many strong stunting schools with limited tumbling.  Stunting is easier to progress then tumbling.  Under good coaching any cheerleader can stunt at a high level; the same can not be said for tumbling.  Many cheerleaders no matter how many hour spent in training can still not do a standing tuck but they can do a double down, and a twist from a single leg stunt.

I think it is a no brainer for some athletes, great idea and wish luck to those who pursue it.  Not everyone is good in tumbling, but it does give those athletes a place.  Good luck to all!

This makes sense to me, as long as this is exactly how gyms are using it.

In my opinion no division will ever be truly used for what it is for, you will always find another coach or gym that wants to sandbag or not follow the rules, all we can do it represent our gyms to the best of our abilities!
