I heard this as well.  I wonder if all the kids she had brought to the gym will leave too. Looks like a lot of their staff left as well, according to the website.

Goodevening Everyone!!!!

I think that if you have a specific question about One you should give them a call, no one will ever know the truth unless you ask the source.

This is how silly rumors get started.  Then someone has to jump on this board to defend their position.   It would be best to go straight to the source about this one.

I heard about the awful things that were goin on at the gym before it became "One". I dont know what happened ---- nor do I care to find out. I just wish bri the best. I know first hand what its like to be lied to. Bri was an awesome coach and deserved a great gym. (If she did leave that is)

Bri is no longer with ONE, Christina is the only original staff member left,
Malcolm is on staff still too, Good luck to ONE on re-builing a successful gym after losing so many awesome staff members. Where did everyone go? Heard Portia was back at POWER

It's a tough business out there. Some times it takes more than coaching to get the job done. It's the behind the scenes work that actually keeps the business alive and someone with a really tough skin to handle multiple business issues. Great coaches don't alway make for a great business person. The gym will be fine with the direction the staff is taking it.

THE QUESTION IS DOES THIS GYM EVEN KNOW WHAT DIRECTION TO TAKE AFTER LOSING SUCH AN AWESOME STAFF YOU HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO RUN A GYM IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL

It has to be a balance of people who know how to run a business AND awesome coaches & staff. It seems gyms that close most likely are lacking in one of these areas (and sometimes sadly both).

We all need to remember this gym was in existence before some of these coaches walked in the door.  the only thing that was new was the name - one athletics.  oh sure the gym saw a one year migration of staff from another neighboring gym.  But the building was there, the equipment was in place, and there were cheerleaders all ready in the building.

It's tough to make these gyms work and hope that you will be able to build a career out of coaching.  It can be a whole lot of fun to stick around and coach forever but will the career last to be able to support your financial needs for the rest of your life?  will it pay the mortgage, provide you the medical coverage you and your family will eventually need, or build you a complete retirement package?

Most coaches are faces with these adult questions and for the most part most coaches need to move on and find a job that will hopefully provide some sense of financial reassurance for the next 50+ years.

I have not doubt this is a tough decision for most because cheerleading is their passion.   It never feels good when you have to walk away from what you LOVE.

Except that statement isn't true because the "existing" coaches from that gym were all fired or left when the new management took over.

With all do Respect Tracy, yes the building was there, yes it was formerly Cheer Starz, but to state the only thing new was just a name change, is so not correct.
When Bri joined on as Co-Owner, the gym that became ONE, experienced way more success than Cheer Starz could ever dream of. Beacause of Bri.
It takes more than a building and equiptment to run an all-star gym.
The Coaches were very knowledgeable, passionate, well qualiified individuals that have moved on to other gyms, so it looks like the management is in question. here. How could they let someone so well respected as Bri is, get away?

This post was not started to debate on who is right and who is wrong here. On most occasions the people that post on this site have not clue of the real truth of what is going on in the particular gym they want to bash at the time. I was just wondering if we were going to lose another gym because it is very hard out there and I was hoping to lend support to my fellow cheer owners. Parents/people in general  have there beefs at all gyms and feel this is there way to bash them. None of us know what took place except the owners.

Let's keep it professional and nice folks and wish all of our gyms good luck next year.

David, I take great offense to that statement. I coached at Cheer Starz for several seasons and those girls were a TERRIFIC, HARDWORKING group of girls to say that the gym experienced "way more success than cheer starz could ever dream of" is so hurtful. We loved our gym. We were successful in every way, shape and form. Just because we weren't a "mainstream" gym like Cheergyms and Power didn't mean we weren't successful! We had cheer and dance teams that placed very well! In fact my youth and junior cheer teams rarely left a competition not in 1st place. The smith family spent several years making the gym a "family-oriented" gym and I think they did a GREAT job. Please dont bash the original Cheer Starz-The ones who were under the original ownership of Amee.  My decision to leave the gym occurred after the new ownership took place MONTHS before One Athletics was formed. I wish everyone the best of luck!!

I dont recall Roseville All Stars ever having a level 5 team, or having the talent they had as One this past season, so I agree with David. Not to say Cheer Starz didnt have its own measure of success, but IF we are talking about wins and beating gyms such as Power, One gave them that opportunity.
