No, it's not true.  They are all listed in the divison breakout on usasf.net

So, there is or there isn't open division,,

I'm saying this beacuse a couple people have said that already and a couple of gyms have posted it, like on a bulletin on myspace, or face book

Regarding the open division there will no longer be an Open  18 and younger division at competitions. Please do not get this confused with the Open 18 and up division which has not changed.

Open 18 and younger has been removed this year because all Senior 1-4 divisions are now 18 and younger. This change will switch up a few things from last year.

1. Boys will only be allowed on Senior levels 1 and 2 without being co-ed. Ex. 1 boy on a Senior level 3 makes the team Senior 3 Co-Ed. Last year boys were allowed in the open divisions.

2. Instead of 4 different divisions in Senior 3 (Small Senior 3, Large Senior 3, Small Senior Open 3, Large Senior Open 3), There is simply a Small Senior 3 and Large Senior 3 if the team is without any males.

This new change will definitely make for the competition to become deeper and will add more teams into each divisions.

The only division that is considered Open for 18 and younger is Senior Open 5. Which allows for 0-4 males.

Hope this clears things up.

This is kinda exciting, :) more competition in every division, but, idk how well, this would go,

What's the max age limit to be on a senior team? Is it still 12?

To be on a Senior Level 5 team you must be 12 years old.

To be on a Senior Open Level 5 team age is 18 and Younger.

To be on any Senior Level 1-4 is 18 and Younger.

So, basiclly its the same thing, just with out the "open" in it,

So, that means you can have a 9 year old on a senior team ahah,

I think its a great change.   I think the whole idea of open divisions was to help small gyms, but what ended up happening is larger gyms used it too, and basically more often than not you had more teams competing in open divisions than the others.  Now all the senior divisions are open (levels 1-4) so yeah, there will be more competition in these divisions, and you wont have gyms with males on their teams going against all girl (for levels 3 and 4).   Definitely a change for the better!

Well most of the comps up here have had HUGE divisions with the non open and open categories. I personally don't like it , but know that the industry is pushing in that direction. You will now see 8 year olds on ALL Senior teams. Of course you can do elite stunting with babies LOL

The only difference is the addition of Senior Open 5.
