I need some advice on cheerleading

Okay, so this is my last year cheering because of some problems with my wrists. I have two doctors who are saying I absolutely cannot go another year after this. They also said that I have to make a choice between basing and tumbling because my wrists can't take both. Tumbling is more important in my opinion than basing when I can fly at a level 5 level. The problem is, the team I'm on the coach says I can't just fly, and she says I can either "fly here and there" and base also (which I can't do) or I can be an alternate (where I might not be doing anything at all). I really want to do this team because its close to my house, and it's not extremely expensive.

I can't go back to power xtreme because it's an hour and a half away, and it costs twice as much.

I could go to another gym, but it can't be desert storm because they're just as far, and most likely just as expensive as power, and I can't go to arizona heat because my parents don't like that gym.

So my only options are: Fly "here and there" and hope that a main flyer quits, be an alternate, or tryout for arizona myths' open level 6 team.

what should I do?

By you asking you kinda answer your own question. You need to think of your health and also what is financially feasible and what will make you happy. If you literally cannot base is the new program willing to try you out as a top girl on a different team. I know that it may not be level 5 but if you love cheer that much and you just want to make sure you are healthy is it all really worth it?

Are you sure another year of cheering is worth the risk to your wrists?

It might be time to start transitioning into coaching.

I don't know if I could do a level 4 team when I've been on level 5 for so long you know? especially when they're pulling up all the girls that were on their level 4 team that were really good, so there isn't a whole lot of talent left on the level 4 team..?

and I'm not sure I could give it up in this point of my life because I'm not prepared for that mentally. I was planning on starting coaching this year so that it would be an easy transition to next year.

AZ Myths is also having an International Coed team.  They are always
looking for good flyers.  You might want to give that a try as well.

What do you mean by this statement, it comes of like you are saying' hmm, I guess that will be good enough.'  Rephrasing necessary =)

go check out AZ myths... they have both an international coed 5 and 6... at least give it a shot.. you might like it and hey they have boys so a good chance you could be flying and still be able to tumble!! best of both worlds... it doesnt hurt to go check out a practice :)
