"Pitting" these two gyms against each other was not intended.

The fact that these two gyms, staff or girls, are friends or friendly was not in question either.

There are questions though when a gym does so well the first season and has such a low turn out the next.............

I am not to sure why people pit these two gyms together... STILL!!!! People would be amazed at how the two support each other. The staff is very close friends and some of the kids are too. Yes POWER had a great turnout! John and his staff run a great gym! Are these people from my gym last year?? About 6. And they should go there! We do not have a level 5 program this year that is running all year and POWER's speaks for itself. The kids that left are AMAZING and will do so great on John's teams.

We at OA are excited about the new year and YES we were able to look back over the last season and learn a ton. Thats the great thing... we were a first year gym and learned SOOO much! Thanks for everyone's support :)

David

You are so correct! And we have taken your advise and are looking into how we can make a great gym year after year. We actually do not have a low turnout in terms of what we started with last season. We were so thankful to have grown a ton throughout the summer last year. The college team started in late August which added to the numbers.

But thank you so much for helping us reflect. Again, I can say we are excited to start this new season. And... excited to support all the other gyms growth as well so this sport of cheerleading can live on :)

Thanks David in your interest in OA

You're funny Bri.  I could hear your teeth grind as you posted that last one.  biggrin  Until you actually run your own gym and suffer through the constant blows for a full season you just don't know right?  Until then you're just a typist.

If the positives and negatives of a cheer gym were a picnic, the positives would be the thousands of blades of calm grass while the negatives are the several annoying flies in your face.

i think most gyms work on some tumbling during practices but then you still have to sign up for an additional tumbling class at least once a week and that fee is usually included in tuition but sometimes you have to pay for it separately

Our gym just started an extensive summer tumbling program, which is included in the tuition. All participants are separated by level and then age so the groups are smaller and the kids get to do more. It just started last night and it was amazing to see all the different stations and everything that was being done. The kids got a great tumbling work out and seemed to enjoy it a lot..

So is there a senior open 5 and a small junior 5 or did they get rid of junior 5??? My friend that was originaly on junior 5 told me they made junior 5 into a senior open 5. So shes on senior open 5 now confuse

Also is there really a small limited coed 5 or is that junior coed 5?? Cause I was also told by someone on junior coed 5 that the team is small this year and will be going small limited coed 5 at bid competitions and worlds confuse So that wouldnt make since to have 2 teams in the same division

i dont get why everyone is so nosey as far as who has what teams. Theyre all tentative at all gyms as far as im concerned until the summer is over and kids have gained new skills, perhaps gained new kids, etc. Everyone will know for sure what everyone will have once the competition schedules go up in late october-november. Until then, keep on speculating.

Side note, not being nosey---i find it interesting that still no one has posted the cheerforce teams.

thats becuz they didnt get the tryout numbers they thought theyd have - otherwise theyd be yelling all over their website and message boards how they have 100 million teams and 1 trillion million kids !  you know the smoke and mirror trick they usually try to pull every year after tryouts but i dont think thats working anymore especially this year

Again, Cheerforce does not pick their teams right away, and I'm sure you'll find out soon enough what teams they will be having. It's early in the game, and kids come and go. So basically noone knows what they are going to end up with when it's all said and done.

Sorry, I have to agree with what they said. I don't think they have much to talk about this year...which is why we haven't seen any hoopla on the boards. I could be wrong, but I've seen a lot more chatter in previous years that's for sure.

Whether you think that's rude or not. It is what it is.
