Open Gyms are available to anyone interested in trying out for the 2009 Cheerleading Team. They allow you to meet other members trying out, work on jumps, motions, stunting and tumbling. You will be able to get one on one help in any area needed and experience how a normal practice is conducted.
Open Gyms for SJSU Cheer Tryouts will be held EVERY Thursday in April (2, 9, 16, 23, 30) from 7-9:30pm in the Spartan Complex (SPX 218).
The Tryout Clinic will be Saturday May 2, 2009 from 10am - 2:00 in SPX 218. At the tryout clinic, candidates will learn and rehearse the material they will be trying out with the next day.
2009 SJSU Cheer Team Tryouts: Sunday May 3, 2009 from 10am - 2:00 in SPX 218.

Requirements for Attending all the Above:
Students must bring a current SJSU Student ID. Incoming Freshman must bring a copy of their Official Acceptance Letter, Photo ID and/or Proof of Age. If student is under 18yrs, Parent MUST be available to sign a Safety Consent Form.
Requirements for Tryouts:
* Hard Working, Dedicated, and Motivated Individual
* Must Maintain a 2.0 GPA and be enrolled in 12 credits (full time student)
* Must perform all Tryout Material (learned @ the Clinic) to their best ability
* Tumbling Experience / Minimum Back Handspring
(Candidates can get help at the Open Clinics in April)
* Stunting: Must be able to base, backspot, or fly a one legged extended stunt with a full cradle.
* Please wear a t-shirt with athletic shorts and CLEAN athletic shoes. Hair must be pulled back. (Tryout Day Attire: White Athletic top & Gold shorts, Clean shoes and hair back with a bow)
* All Selected Candidates MUST be available to attend Conditioning Week Aug 3-6 and UCA College Camp in Santa Barbara Aug 7-9. This is MANDITORY!
