Favorite WOW moments 2008-2009

Ok, the season is almost over (here comes Worlds) and I thought it would great to get everyone's favorite Wow moments of the seasons.  There always seems to be a moment in a competition that makes everyone go Wow and sticks in your head for the rest of time!  Here's mine:

OC Allstars Small Senior 5 at American Grand in Las Vegas -- When they pulled off their bows and swung their hair around, I about fell off of my seat.  It was innovative and different.  Out of all the great routines this year, for some reason this moment sticks out in my mind -- love it or hate it, this got everyone talking!  Great job and way to take it to the edge!

Pace International 6 at Spirit Sports, Palm Springs -- This routine made me believe cheerleaders can fly!  Holy Moly, this team was exciting and fun!  Love, love, love this routine and want to see more!

Califoria Allstars small Jr. 5 Cheer Pros -- I've never seen a flyer drop out of a full up and immediately get back up in the air and hit a tick tock completely in time with the rest of the stunts.  Unbeleivable recovery.  I love this team (as you can probably tell from my past posts) and they were a very deserving overall Grand Champion.

Magic Small Senior 5 -- USA nationals -- 'nuff said!  Love their energy and vitality!

California Allstars small Sr. 5 Coed at Anaheim (last week or so?) --- Can you say ouch!  I don't think fingers are supposed to bend that way!

Ok, folks, let's hear your WOW moments for 2008-2009!

Edited to add:  Oops, forgot another WOW moment.  East Elite Small Sr. 5 , the blonde girl at the very, very, very end of the routine on the first day of competition at Spirit Sports throwing the double.  I swear my head exploded!

This is for my own team:

At Spirit Sports, we hit a zero deduction routine the first day, and we were placed in third because of our "showmanship" points.

so the second day, we all walked out onto the floor, turned to the right, and popped our butts for a full eight count.

we still lost to CA because of a major bobble, but we got 2nd out of eight teams, and we had fun doing it!

Also, I know this WOW moment was 2006-2007, but the first time I saw Cheerforce Alcatraz put up those 10 stunts in Vegas -- boom, boom, boom, BOOM! Iconic opening to probably one of the most memorable Jr. 5 routines -- loved the military theme! And loved Power Large All Girl level 5 2007-2008 with the 12 stunt groups. I don't think I've ever seen an All Girl team fill the stage like that!

Pride Athletics Champions Jr. 5 at WSF on the second day.  The tumbling pass when one girl does her pass that ends with a full stumbled forward, then the girl right behind her ended up doing a double full over her head landing right behind her,  WOW scary moment looked sooo amazing.

Watching my daughters cheer on the same team. When they came out they gave each other a big squeeze and a smile. I cried....From that moment on I realized the memories my girls were making were ever lasting. Thank you CHEER for the life long memories.

I have to say for a coach who watched my team struggle all season with injuries, people leaving and joining all season. EVEN down to a week before Nationals we lost one of our strongest cheerleaders to grades. With only 2 practices before heading to Nationals, MY GIRLS pulled it together. The REACTION girls had heart all season, they overcame rumors and adversity... To making a cheer family w/ many gyms and gaining support from gyms like UCF, Pyramids, Swat, and even Magic all stars from Southern California.
I am so proud of these 12 girls for pushing through. Fighting to the end, never giving up and winning their first National title in their first season.

The 1st day of performing, our girls had a melt down. Everything hit them. We watched our girls walk off the mat in tears. We never asked what those tears were for. We figured it was pride, fear, relief and just joy that they made it to Nationals still strong.

The 2nd day of competition our girls were cheered on and encouraged by so many teams in the practice room. Especially from the talented staff and team of MAGIC ALL STARS.
When they hit the floor, you could see the pride and confidence that this was their day to shine.

I was so proud of my girls for pushing through this season. Our slogan was "IT'S NOT THE SIZE OF THE SQUAD, BUT THE HEART OF THE SQUAD" and these girls had heart :)
