If most divisions were 5 teams deep, they didnt separate them into additional categories like IALC did. Look at the gyms and teams attending, not just the divisions they were put into and youll see IALC was huge in comparison. US Finals was small and many of the larger gyms did not attend. Im just being realistic here, it may be like comparing apples and oranges. But Im glad there were no problems and people had fun. I really think more gyms will give US Finals a chance next season if for no other reason than to steer away from IALC.
There were teams from all over! It ran on time awards were organized, the staff was great and hey it was Vegas! It was great and our teams did VERY well so that was a plus! I also can not wait until may when the other US finals comps are over where they rank all the divisions from all the US final comps! We didn't go to IALC but the reviews, YIKES!
The winner in each division received jackets with the US Finals logo on the back. Not sure what the regional winner, who then becomes the national winner, will recieve once the final results for all 4 comps are posted in late May.
I wish our gym would go to this comp instead of all-levels next year. IALC was a fiasco. Half the teams didn't even know that they got sweatshirts for 1st and I won't even get into the bias on the first day with the judging!
Too bad the Ohio announcer did not say the point total for the winners during the live feed, like they did in LA. The point totals are not posted on the US Finals web page either. It would have been nice to see how the teams stacked up on a point basis before going into final judging.
