Congratulations to the 2008-2009 Scholarship Winners!

On Sunday March 22nd, 2009 at the GSSA Nationals in San Jose the NCAA Scholarship winners were announced and recognized during an awards ceremony. 

The Northern California All-Star Alliance raised $6000 for the first annual NCAA Scholarship Fund.     This was a collaborative effort of donations from  event producers including,  Varsity,  Jamz,  Cheersport and Jam Brands.   Each gym within the NCAA also donated to the fund and at designated events the spectators donated as well.  This was truly a collective effort of  everyone coming together to recognize and encourage the higher education of All Star cheerleaders in the Northern California region.    The application process/criteria included:
G.P.A
Community Service
Years in the sport of All Star Cheer
Cheerleading Technique
Essay
Letters of Recommendation
Interview

All of the winners selected are great representatives of All Star Cheer.
The NCAA Scholarship Committee developed levels of scholarship:
Level 1  Receiving $300 Each

Tiffany Jerue  - University Cheer Force
Megan Morgan - POWER
Jasmine Davis  - Pyramids
Courtney Fiebelman  - Pyramids
Alexandria Harlan -  Cheer with a Twist
Megan Sininger  - Pyramids

Level 2 Receiving $500 Each
Shalia Shepperson   - California Spirit Elite
Chelsea Henderson -  Motions
Alexandria DeDomenico - Pyramids
Kathy Shen - Premier All Stars

Level 3  Receiving $1000 Each
Claire Potter  -    University Cheer Force
Priscilla Murphy - University Cheer Force

Additional Scholarship of $135 was donated to :
Special Needs Athletes of Northern Calfiornia -  This donation was presented to Jodi of Cheergyms.com to utilize at the Special Needs Cheer camp she is hosting this summer for all Northern California Special Needs Athletes. 

The NCAA is proud to be able to recognize these talented and deserving young women and wish them the best as they move forward in the future.  Thank you for your contributions to the great sport of All-Star Cheer.   Look for our Scholarship Booths at the 2009-2010 Competitions for information on how you can be a scholarship winner next year!  or contact us at norcalalliance@aol.com for more information.

Congrats to the winners.

Thank you for the scholarship money for the Special Needs camp on Saturday, June 27th, 2009.  We are looking forward to another great camp!!
