Age Cut Off Change

In case you haven't heard yet, there is a new age cut off date.  It has been moved to August 31st.  With the exception of those that would potentially be aging out.  Those that are 18 the date remains May 31st.  The following season (10-11) the maximum age date will be moved to August 31st.

That was already scheduled to take place this year.

From everything I have seen, your analogy is correct.  What the plans are for 2010/2011 I have no clue but would be interested if others have heard if the age limits will be changing again..

You are correct.  There is nothing in place at this point to raise the age any further.  The intent is to leave the age limits alone for at least 2 years before considering any changes.

thanks for the answers...I was confused becuase the age grid still said 11...
I think at a senior level it looks so much more polished when girls are a little older...The way a senior age all star works a dance or nails a stunt looks much different than a junior age doing it. I thnk it will be a positive change to the senior division...

The age grid on the usasf.net site is still the current year.  If you scroll down to page three, just above the green highlighted sections, the increase to age 12 is mentioned.

For 2008-2009 it is 11-18.  For 2009-2010 it is 12-18.

What about junior??
I heard it's going to go up a year. So you can still be on junior if your 15 & under by August 31. Is that one true?

None of the age brackets, except seniors, have changed.

Is this the rule for 09-10 or just a recommendation?

It's a recommendation that I expect to be finalized any time now.

The only thing really not published about the age grid is the increase for seniors to 12.

It should all happen in days rather than weeks.
