However let me set the record staright about aerials junior 3.. this is not a new team that has been together 2 weeks.. lets be honest now. Those members are almot all crossovers from your senior open 3 team. But in any case they did an amazing job yesterday:)

I would like to set the record straight...Our Jr Co-Ed 3 is a new team that has only been together 2 maybe 3 weeks.  The kids are not new cheerleaders, but they are a new team and only learned their routine 2 or 3 weeks ago.  They are almost a 50% split between our youth 2 and our senior 3.

I only wish I could have been there to see them hit the floor.  I was so excited to hear they had a great performance!!

You earlier stated they weren't a new team that had only been together 2 weeks...I just wanted to clear that up.  Thank you for your positive feedback on their performance. smile

So, I'm a few minutes late, I know this competition happened a week ago, but this is the first opportunity I've had to get on to see what everyone thought about it.

I agree that the warm-up area wasn't ideal (the spring floor being split) but I didn't experience any rude staff members and I thought the day went well overall.

Some of my teams won, and some of them lost, but they all ended up right where I thought they should.  We had a Tiny L1, who always comes out on bottom, because they are all 3 years old, a Youth L1, who got confused in their counts, and had an off second half, and they ended up 4th...  Our Lg Sr L2 team got 3rd, but they dropped two stunts, and both One and Power had no major mistakes.  Our Junior 2 and Sr Coed 4 both won their divisions, and fairly so, as we had more difficulty and everyone made a few mistakes in those divisions.

In UCA's defense, thier staff has always gone over and above to connect with the kids on our teams (probably because they're used to that at their summer camps) but they make everyone feel like they remember them...  Our kids like that.

I agree that it wasn't the BEST competition, but there was a good amount of competition, the venue was good, and we had a good day overall.

And, as a part of the NorCal Alliance, I haven't been as involved as I would like - we're pretty far from all of the action - but I think you guys are doing great, and I can see the progress being made from my end.  I like the reply that says "Rome wasn't built in a day" - It won't be long before the hard work starts paying off.  I'm sure people will start appreciating the alliance more when their kids start applying for the scholarships, right?  lol.

Just my opinon  :)

um this comp. wuz o.k. i can understand everyones fustration. my coaches knew coming into this comp that UCA judged really wierd and we sort of tweaked our routine 2 fit the UCA judging standards. i dont think the staff wuz that bad but wen we were warming up, the split tumbling mat was odd but we dealt with it, everyone before us got 2 warm up standing tumbling and then split the corners between the teams for running tumbling. when we warmed up we did our standings and then were ready for running but when it was time the person working the mat kicked us off! we had no time and my team didnt get 2 warm up our running tumbling at all the girls were scared and worried this wuz my only big problem with UCA. a couple girls wen we performed face planted or touched down which is humiliating to the girl that fell. overall O.K. comp

p.s. o ya duz anyone hav any videos of oa? especially their senior 4?

I didn't experience anything bad with the staff. I just think whoever put together the gifts that were given to the girls after performance really needed to use better judgment. I realize this comp. had sponsors and the sponsors provided product to give the cheerleaders. However I don't think our little girls needed tampons or fake tats that say your so hot! Come on...no
