sooo.. I just watched cali sm sr 5.. anddd they played it safe. but smart..
just think they could have added all the difficulty back in but.. what if someone had gotten injured at the competition? then where would they be.. well i know they could get alternates but i think they just stayed safe and performed their butts off.. kind of remind me of SOT... they are soo clean and keep a safe routine.. ya know..

BTW

Cheer=Drama

Wow pc had a hard fall and watching it back i think cheerforce should have gotten second

Yeah i didnt get that one. Even if cf dropped a stunt they still seemed to have more difficulty. Plus a dropped stunt is a 1 point deduction and that was their only mistake that i saw. pcc had 2 bust which were both 1 point deductions so that should be 2 points. Same with day 1. i dropped stunt= 1 point deduction Vs. 3 touch downd = 1.5 point deductions. How did they still score higher with more deductions and less difficilty??? But then again thats to the naked eye lol Im not a judge but I can for sure look and tell you who i thought was better. But maybe im looking for the wrong things

i didnt see this or hear anything but i did see some cf and ca girls hanging out together and taking pictures and things like that. They seemed to be getting along and drama free from what i saw.

Ok..Ok.. Gloves down!! Everyone did great this weekend!! Sometimes we soar and sometimes we fall. That is the way it goes. Good job everybody...

I just wanted to say how proud I am of Pacific Coast Magic!! What a group of just wonderful athletes and families we have. We have a team of GREAT Coaches that really care about their teams and truly appreciate the parents. Thank you for that!

The sportsmanship I saw from our teams and others, (such as PAC, Cheerforce, and Desert Storm) was just so touching. We should all take a queue from these great athletes. They were fierce competitors on the mat...but off the mat they were gracious and kind.

Both teams from PCM that competed today were amazing. You guys performed your hearts out!! I couldn't be more proud to say we are a part of this great team.

This message board makes me laugh time and time again because people think that U.S.A is just so uninformed and oblivious. This is absurd. Almost every comment on here bashing U.S.A is ridiculous.
First of all  O.C. should have known by now being a 5th or 6th year program that every athlete needs a foot on the performance mat before the music starts. This is not just a U.S.A rule; this has been at every competition for the last few seasons. Shame on you coaches for making it the fault of the penalty judges to catch the mistake you as a choreographer should know yourself. I assume you did not do your entire routine full out on the warm up mat so they assumed your athletes could not POSSIBLY be breaking a rule everyone knows; similar to if your athletes were warming up without shoes on. Would you expect the legality judges to inform you that is not acceptable either? (didn't think so)
Second of all, though U.S.A passed out at large bids to teams that already have them at actual awards, it should be fairly obvious that their award ceremonies are televised so did no one think that maybe they did not want to be handing out at worlds' bids to the 4th place teams on television?
Thirdly, though PC might have been better than PACE (well they were hands down, sorry pace but your dropped stunt and fallen basket did not impress me) the scores of sm. sr 5 were inflated because not only was the grand champion in this division, it was also the largest division, so the necessity to create a gap between the teams means the scores had to start higher and have a wider range.
And lastly, I love magic and am always impressed with their level of difficulty; with that being said they did not perform anywhere near the level of CA bullets. Though CA's routine was "watered down" what they did do, was done with almost perfection. Everything from their jump timing, to the massive height in their long tumbling, to their point flyers' violent (for lack of a better word) body positions is exactly what USA wants. CA is a program that knows what they are doing and they know how to hit the score sheet at every competition they go to. Whether it is spirit sports or U.S.A, they know how to tweak their routine to each judging panels liking.

As far as organizational aspects, was it perfect? No. But nothing can compare to a cheerpros competition where our athletes get to warm up on spring-less strips under those lovely bleachers at the long beach pyramid where awards always go an hour too long and the teams warm up and then get to sit for ages before they hit the competition floor. Yet we as coaches keep bringing our teams to these competitions. The beauty in all-star cheer being a business is that you don't have to pay 3 grand to compete at any given competition if you don't want to. We all knew going into this competition that if we wanted to win we had to clean everything up b/c that's the U.S.A style just like we skilled up our routines for spirit sports. Stop acting shocked, surprised, or annoyed; we all knew what we were getting.

Overall I thought the judging was what would be expected at a U.S.A competition in all divisions.

Congrats to all the competitors this weekend; it was an awesome competition!

**and Kudos to desert storm with your opposite leg full up/ high to high tic tocs- AMAZING!**

I will never understand the way that USA judges... Yesterday our 5 had one missed pass, one bobble and one major fall And scored a 84.5. Today we did 5 times better, in my opinion of course, And had a missed pass and one touchdown and scored much lower. How? I will never understand USA. I can not wait until they have the "universal" score sheet, for this purpose solely. Frustrated, sorry.

One thing to know about USA is that your judging panel changes from day 1 and day 2. Our scores and comments were completely different. we were at the top of our division on day 1 and day 2 we placed lower, mistakes were made, but just the overall feel of the score sheet from each day was very off.

I will also say that USA has a very disorganized warm up area and the staff wasn't very friendly.

Congrats to American and CA small senior. I thought Magic, PacificCoast and Desert Storm large 5 looked great.

I agree with everyone on this post that USA judgeing was wrong and unfair also they we're very disorganized now to the divisions the small sr division was so amazing to watch each one of those teams went out and did their very best and in my opinion that's all that matters. Watering down your routine to get a PAID bid to worlds is wrong and the judges made a huge mistake on their part, any team can water it down and make it clean and classy and from my perspective i wouldn't want to get a paid bid knowing we watered down our routine but they were clean and they did look good (CA) Magic i willl always love this program and their athletes always very respectful and are fun to be around congratulations on your 2nd place you actually deserved that and i hope you get lots of recognition for it because you were bomb on sunday cheerforce always amazing OC jr incredible! sm sr i really hope they make some smart descisions when it comes to worlds cause it's too expensive to not make finals

Where's everyone going next?

Jamfest

First I would like to say congratulations to everyone who won their divisions or won bids to WORLDS! Now, I am not sure about all the details and specifics about the judging or lack of, the warms up ( how dis-organized it was or was not) and the past history of USA and how they routinely make errors in and dont seem to be accountable for their errors like everyone is and should be).

All I know is I had a great time, spent some wonderful moments with old friends and made some new ones, watched my daughter laugh and smile and enjoy herself with her teammates and coaches and supported my teams with excitement and enthusiasm.

Props to everyone of those guys and girls, because regardless of what is being said they still go up on that stage and give us a show everytime... I for one appreciate the effort, the attitude and the passion.

Great Job PCM, I always have been very proud of PC Cheer and now I am very proud and honored to be a part of the PCM organization (FAMILY). Thank you coaches for all you do for our teams, thank you parents for your continued and un-wavering support and thank you to all the teams for your can do attitude, your wonderful smiles and great sportmanship.

Good Luck to everyone at worlds, I am sure you will make us all proud!!

PS. anytime I get to spend with my daughter is time well spent, much appreciated and always welcomed!! so no matter what happens we all got to do that much:) spend time with our kids!!!

From everything I have read many are upset with the judging.  Why do we all keep coming back?  Is it just for the money?  This competition seemed so much smaller than the past USA Comps.  If we stop attending this comp then we will see changes and less complaining.  Send USA a message that they need to get up do date or we won't come back.  If this is a Worlds Qualifier then lets have judges that are TRAINED to look at difficulty.  I had a great time but really wasn't surprised.
