Dynamic Diamonds; this team was fun to watch, they tried really hard. Didn't really have level 5 skills, but their effort was outstanding. {7.64}
Power; I was really impressed with Power today. This was definitely their best competition of the season. They hit a very clean routine. Added some more difficult elements, which helped them a lot with their score. Very impressive. {10.04}
GA Heat; Although they were lacking doubles, and there were only 4 stunts choreographed to go up, they were clean, except for the minor timing issues in the jump sequence. {9.90}
Magic; One girl with an injured ankle tripped after the pyramid. There was also a double down that didn't fully complete the second twist. Other than that, they looked great. Unfortunately, they lacked energy, but hopefully they will bring some day 2! Out of all of the scores, this one shocked me the most. Should have been higher. What happened? {9.78}
Cheergyms.com; Had a small bobble, one of the twisting skills did not preform. Not the most difficulty I've seen out of this division, but all in all, they were pretty clean. {9.47}
All American Cheer; This routine was very fun to watch. There were two bobbles, timing issues in the stunt sequence, one touchdown, and one of the flyers feet hit the floor, coming out of her doubledown, before the bases caught her whole body. {9.82}
Gage Inferno; In the stunt sequence, one girls leg dropped down, and one tumbling pass bailed on their full. {9.76}
Capitol City; Had a few touchdowns and a bobble, not much difficulty in their routine. {9.32}
AZ Power; The only thing thing I saw was one stunt fell to the ground. I really like this team. The stunt fall must have really hurt them. {9.34}
Champion Cheer; timing was off in the stunts, lacking difficulty, and energy. A little boring. {9.92}
East Elite; woah.woah.woah.woah.woah.woah.woah. This team is amazing. Enough said. {10.27}
Unfortunately, I missed Cheer Extreme {9.74}, Cheer Fusion Diamonds {9.50}, Woodlands Elite {10.07}, Pro Spirit {9.23} ? (Correct me if I'm wrong:)), and Illinois Cheer {9.72} again, ? (Correct me if I'm wrong:)),
I was so looking forward to watching these teams, I heard they were all pretty good, and Woodlands had a beautiful routine. Looking forward for day two! :)
Stingrays; Had two dropped stunts and a fall in tumbling, everything else was amazing. Very difficult, and tumbling, like always was very impressive. {10.13}
Sprit of Texas; This team was the bomb! Their two touchdowns, and two stunts that didn't double down, didn't change my mind about this great team, or the judge's. This team is worth watching. {10.17}
Cheers and More Senior Elite Rebels; They tried so hard! There were no doubles thrown, and timing was a bit off during the stunts, one stunt didn't preform. {didn't get the score on this one... who did?}
Maryland Marlins; One of the flyers dropped her leg early in the stunt, someone tumbled out of bounds, and someone landed on their bottom in tumbling. I enjoyed this routine very much. Surprised with their placing. {didn't get the score on this one... who did?}
California; This was a hard routine to watch. Dropped two stunts, and when one of the stunts got back up in the air, they fell again. So technically, there were 3 dropped stunts, just to make this clear to the postings above. There were also two touchdowns. Bad day? Surprised by this placing as well. {9.93 ? (Correct me if I'm wrong:))}
People are bitter because they believe cali is being placed higher than they should at competitions because of their name.
I'm going to to out on a limb and say I don't think that is what Fierce Coach meant. I believe she meant that at Spirit Sports most of the CA teams had a bad first day (yes they did -- I was there) and came storming back the second day with great performances in an amazing come back. I believe she is complete sincere in her wish for ALL California teams to have a great showing in Dallas.
Also, Nelson, thanks for the updates and support of my favorite team, CA smal J5. I wish you had brought your teams to Dallas, because your small sr 5 and J5 are great and provided me with one of my favorite "wow" moments of teh season so far (love, love, love the hair thingie). I think that would have knocked everyone off of their seats there!
