Ok, I left the competition before the end. I heard California Allstars Small Jr. level 5 got overall Grand Champions -- is that true?

i saw on the oc website that ca jr 5 scored 91.3 and oc sr 5 scored 91.3 but ca jr 5 got grand champions.  can someone explain?  confused.gif

I saw that too

Small Senior

1. OC Senior Black - 91.3
2. CA - 89.2
3. Victory - 87.2
4. Magic - 86.8
5. Fierce - 85
6. Orange Crush - 84.8
7. PACE - 79.7

Small Jr. 5

CA - 91.3
OC - 89.3
SCV - 86.5

they might do it by who had the least amount of deductions but i dont know

where did you get these scores?

from the oc website. Some oc cheerleaders wanted them so the coaches posted them

Depending on the competition company is they way they would decide a tie.....when it comes to grand champs some companies ask the judges who they felt may of given the most crowd pleasing performance.  Some companies might go with the hi and low judges scores and figure it that way.

CA Jr 5 had fewer deductions (.5 points to our 1 point).  So I'm guessing it either went to the team with fewer deductions or judges choice.

Either way, congrats to CA's Jr 5 on Grand Champions!

We play to the music.  It was an idea I threw out when we were learning the dance and the kids loved it, so we ran with it.  It's a risk, people either love it or hate it, but the kids love performing it so it was a risk I was willing to take.

Thanks for the compliment on the Tic Tocks Megan!  Now if we could just get our kids as flexible as yours...  :)

We just added them too!

And the flexibility...
1. You gotta teach proper splits, literally. Like... hound them That's how you get good front stretches. CONSTANT squaring hips... and then eventually it becomes routine, and then the kids actually start asking... "Coach Megan - Can you stretch my splits?"
and...
2. BREAK THEM in HALF! LOL.

Youtube just doesn't do it justice, but it's on there nonetheless (look up oc cheerpros).  Our remaining competitions are as follows (for that senior 5 team):

CheerPower in San Diego 2.21
Jamfest LIVE in Ontario 3.7
USA All Star Nationals in LA 3.14
American Showcase in Anaheim 3.21
Jamfest Nationals in Long Beach 4.4
