Well my goodness after reading all these 'opinions" I thought I'd share mine. I have 5 sons that cheer now, my youngest is on the CA Crush open 3 team. They are coached by their older brothers who are on CA Allstars and Gymtyme. I was happy that my sons did well competing with CA Allstars, but I was even more proud of our CA Crush team who took 3rd place with such heart. The whole team sat both days and watched practically every team that went on that stage and were in total awe of all of the teams and talent in front of them. After finally seeing the level of cheer their coaches were trying to tell them about they came back to the gym with a whole new level of admiration and respect for cheerleading and their coaches. Spirit Sports was no doubt a huge positive & learning experience for our very young team.
So congratulations & good luck to all teams this past weekend and thank you for the inspiration!

What a great story and message to put on the board! Any cheerleader than can come back from a tough comp like that with a postive, non defeated attitude is awesome! I wish you guys the best of luck with your new gym and team!

What a great story...and bless you for using a large font!!
Wow im just a little bit confused as to how CheerForce got thrown into all of this. Kind of funny how people can throw a team into drama about a competition that they werent even at. You all seriously need to chill out because arguing on here about what happened will not change the results If you dont like the way that certain gym owners act then start your own gym since you apparently know everything....otherwise just leave it alone
Over and above all the gym owners look at all of this as a business so if they want to take a bid and sit on it so another team doesnt get it ( as wrong as i think it is to that 2nd place team...who i believe was AZ Power not CF) its their choice and they are doing it for their business. they know that winning paid bids at competitions (whether they take them or not) makes them look good and all the kids from the smaller gyms will want to go to their gym since they always win
Trust me its working because i coach and still cheer and i hear a lot of kids saying they want to change gyms because they want to win. Owners know at the end of the year the team that won the most and got the most publicity will get more kids at the end of the year
If you think Im wrong...what 2 teams get bashed the most on here?? CF and CA.... well what are the 2 largest cheer programs in California...oopps haha have a nice weekend all
We are over your drama. Your failure to drop it makes you look silly. You can win every competition in the world but you ruin it by coming on here and looking silly. We within the rest of the cheerleading world would suggest you just stop responding and move on.
Sorry but your arent going to change it! These comments of people asking to stop - go on just as much as the gym bashing. So, within time, this "spirit sport" post will be long forgotten! Also, dont forget it's not only CA and CF if you read other posts, it goes on with other gyms as well...like it or not!

I'd also like to point out to you that Cheerforce was not even at this competition. Someone on this board had an opionion and because another poster new this person "use" to be a CF parent, pointed that out. So no need for you to mention cheerforce (when plenty of other folks had comments to make about CA that are not from CF)!
I understand that people on here are just tired of this particular thread and would like it to just go away.
So "Honestly" if you are reading this and would like to continue discussing our differences of opinion I am more then willing to take this discussion to a PM...but if your tired as I am of beating a dead horse then we can just move on and wait for the next bone to chew on.....Deal

Thank U so much AirborneOwner & ACEDAD(how's that font for ya;)..)
I meant to post this earlier but was overwhelmed by all of the other posts on this thread. I was SUPER impressed by the sportmanship showed by Galaxy cheer at this comp. At every award session I saw where they were on stage their entire team would stand up and clap for the teams awarded National Champions....even when it was in their own division. Their coaches should be VERY proud of them! My daughter also said their teams were very nice while backstage and wished her team luck....considering all the negativity that has come out of this comp. I thought it was important to also mention some of the positives as well!

What a great way to look at things! I love to read such positive comments on these boards. I completely agree with what you're saying. I can remember back to 7 years ago when my daughter had just started cheering, she was on "Pee-Wee's" (what is now known as mini's), and would watch the senior teams with complete "Awe" and admiration for the "big girls" (as she used to call them) and was in heaven. She used to tell me "Next year, Im gonna be on that team Mom, because I have a back handspring..." Not having any clue what-so-ever on what skill levels went into being on a team like that, nor the time, dedication, and commitment that went along with it. Again, I think what you're saying is great, and I too look at the level 5's, and I'm truely impressed as well. Great job to all gyms that competed at Spirit Sports.

This has NOTHING to do with Palm Springs, or maybe it does? But I competed once in the Open Div. (I aged out of Sr's a LONG time ago) and I had a random mom that I didn't know come up and HUG me when I was done. After we hugged, she said thank you to me. I was SO confused because I had no clue who she was! When I asked her why she was thanking me, she said because her daughter was so impressed and inspired by our performance, and that she appreciated that her daughter looked up to such positive role models.
I really hadn't realized until then how many people's lives you can influence without even realizing it. And I'm flattered to be a role model for the "little girls" who look up to me, even though some of them aren't so little any more!
Speaking of "my girls," Jeanette and Alex, I saw your kids at Spirit Sports, but I didn't see you! I'll have to find you in Vegas!
