CheerTyme loves JAMZ. My kids had such a great day, and were very proud of their performances and 3rd place finishes. I really enjoy JAMZ competitions and JAMZ staff.
I do agree the food sucked but thats not JAMZ's fault and it wasn't JAMZ who was checking bags it was the venue staff.
The late night awards are kind of a bummer, however, they did say thank you at the awards ceremony recognizing it was a school night, which I thought was nice.
I like that they alternate divisions from cheer to dance or cheer to a different cheer divison. It saves us from the 15 min. break between teams. Also for those of us who have dance teams it kept our day busy and we are able to keep all of our kids/spectators at the venue to support them. It is hard when they put dance at the end of the day and our little ones competed in the AM and already had their awards ceremony.
One thing I am noticing though, is that most the cheer teams who attend JAMZ are the same teams who have big dance programs. JAMZ has wonderful dance competition, but I think their cheer competition side is struggling a bit. I know some cheer teams do not like JAMZ because their scores and placements at JAMZ are always way off from the other competitions they have attended. I feel that we are always judged fairly at JAMZ, or not at JAMZ, but I have seen some "interesting" placements happen at JAMZ competitions that were way different the weekend before at "ABC Cheer Co". That can be a big turn off for cheer teams.
It was a great cheer/dance day.

Way to go all who competed.
CO - I just love your program, your staff is great and your kids are so talented. Congrats on a great day.
Odyssey Struck - You are my new fav!!! I was so excited to see you guys out there!!!! AND I AM IN LOVE WITH YOUR CHEER "2 gyms, together we shine!!!" love it!!!!
Starstruck - Your teams look great this year...I am loving you dance teams!!!
Royals - COED sr 4 looked awesome as always....Sr hip hop is so amazing, but I really liked the jackets better. =)
EDGE - Congrats on your 1st place Sr 3 finish. Your routine was filled with skills and very clean!! Way to go!!
FOOTNOTES!!!! - you will always be my favorite dance program!!!!!! You all are great performers and are so so so talented. Way to work it out!

In the end, we don't have to attend JAMZ competitions, we choose to.

Thanks Amy (and everyone else that has commented so nicely about EDGE.)

We had a great day and it was great being able to see all the talent out there:
Cheer Odyssey, Royals, CheerTyme, Nor-Cal, StarStruck, Cheer Xperience...we loved watching all your teams. Oh, and Odyssey Struck....AMAZING!

It's nice to know that even though we compete against each other we are all still in this for the same reason...

Hope to see you at more comps!
Annette

I don't mean to keep dwelling on something but since I wasn't there I'm mainly curious.  We're a family of cheer, we have friends and relatives from various gyms.  It makes it fun because we all support each other.  I heard from two different sources Nor Cal's Sr Coed Lev 4 (Electra) did not have any stunt drops or mistakes and I also heard that team won the extreme stunt award (which I don't believe Jamz would have awarded if they had drops).   Yet two posts have said otherwise, which is interesting.  If they had a good performance I just would hate to see it tainted by false comments.   I guess we need video!

I heard there were some good performances yesterday, but I also heard it really was way too long of a day, especially for anyone who had to be there in the morning as well.

Maybe it was NCE's level 5 team that had the mistakes? People might be confused since it appears many of the same athletes are on both of those teams.

IDK about the whole same athlete thing. But it sounds to me as if people are getting level 5 and 4 confused

Alex, it's a little bizarre that you would post a video of their routine from an entirely different competition (which was good but not their best performance) instead of posting one from yesterday, which I have heard was very strong (no drops).   You obviously have it out for them, which is kind of sad.  I would take anything you say with a grain of salt.

I feel I have to post.  Two mentions on this to set the facts straight, it was a clean routine (they did a fantastic job) and only 7 members are on their level 5.   They are hard working athletes and deserve credit for a job well done.  Its fine to post your opinion but at least get your facts straight.   I'm guessing you werent even there because its obvious you didnt see the routine.

"Alex" always has something negative to say about NorCal according to ALMOST all of their previous posts when that gym is involved ...she/he knows alot about the gym and must have been a previous member of the gym that left with a bad taste

Alex is a former NorCal member. Definitely left with a grudge from what I can see.

First of all, I said nothing about crossovers....second of all, 7 is a lot of crossovers..not to mention all the other kids who cross over to the other teams.

IDK about everyone else but im loving nor cal this year. The new direction they are going in is working out great for them. Does anyone know who did their choreography this year? Although i do believe 7 crossovers on a small team is a whole lot but atleast its from level 5 to level 4. Ive heard worse on here. Someone like 2 weeks ago said their gym had like 7 level 5 kids crossing to their small level 2 team. Anyways, goodluck this season nor cal. I know you guys will do great.
