This is all I could really remember.

Senior co-ed 4:

1.NCE
2. Royals

Senior hip hop:

1: starstruck
2: footnotes
3: royals

Junior 4:

1.Cheer Odyssey
2. Royals

-some stand outs for me-

NCE- they are really good this year. All the teams stand out, and they have become such a strong program. I expect great things for all of their teams, especially phoenix. I like the choreography this year too. Its a somewhat different style then past years, but I really like it. Good luck in arizona!

Starstruck senior 4: that girl with the scorpion/stretch to the side of her head is fierce. She is sooo flexible. aside from her, the team looks so good !

Cheer odyssey: every single one of your teams is amazing. I like the style, and it looks like everyone of the teams is put in the correct levels. And the people on the program are hella nice too.

Footnotes: your junior hip hop team is uhhhhh-freaking-mazing. Whoever choreographed that routine is just as amazing. Big ups to you guys!!!

Edge: for a first year squad, your team is really good. I expect a bigger program next year.

Over all, the competition was pretty fun. I enjoyed all the teams there, and I can't wait to see everyone else again!

As usually I was very disappointed with JAMZ this year. It seems the same teams always seem to do well at JAMZ. Those same teams dont do as well at the other competitions. I did see some shocking results throughout the day. I cant wait to see the results of all the teams placement. Overall the teams are all FINALLY starting to look better.

EWWWWWWWWWW>   Did not like this competition at all.  Thought the entire event was scheduled incorrectly. I can not stand having to sit through every other routine is a dance routine.  Cheer and Dance need to be clustered together.  All cheer teams need to perform at a certain time of the day and then all dance teams need to perform a certain time of the day.   Stop mixing the two.   UGGGHHHHH!  Late night awards for those that compete at early afternoon.  Change that.  They had the mascot, tinys stay all flippin day and night to only hear their team names announced and the coaches go up and receive the award.  Next time the coaches should stay and the kids can just go home. it's way to difficult for the little ones to sit still all day and all night not to mention the fact that the food was gross.  and at the door they checked all the bags and made us throw away all our food for our cheerleaders.  that really irritated me.  i do not want my child to eat all that awful food.   disgusting.  Again a separate awards ceremony for cheer and dance.  I am now starting to see what the last poster means by their comment.   I saw a team win a division that was out stunted and out tumbled.  THis team could not pull a scorp to save their lives and their scales looked like an arabesque with the flyers trying to grab their legs, they could barely hit the skills they did it.  Scary stuff and yet this team is awarded first place?  What about an entire pyramid that falls and the team still gets first place?   Come on.   I know I am going to be the minority on this board and I will probably get in trouble for staying some of these things but if jamz does not listen to the constant complaints that i have seen on this board over and over again the norcal teams will not attend.  it's already the same teams that are showing up with some new teams mixed in but until we see the well known teams start showing up to these events i hope my gym doesn't come back to another jamz event.  It's a good thing that we aren't going to waste our money in vegas.   did not like this competition at all.  I need to add one more thing.  Way to many ties for my liking.  You mean to tell me that division of 5, 4 or 3 teams you can't determine a clear winner?  After the tie for first place was announced turn around and give only one of the first place teams the division winner banner.  LAME!

Yeah, wish we could avoid JAMZ events too...I had another post earlier about their judging on my kid's squad last year at Nationals here in Vegas...we get sucked into this one because it is close for us though. Bogus! The "Orleans" venue leaves little to be desired as well...people, it is a hockey arena.

And that thing about not bringing in food or even water for the athletes seems to be happening at other events as well...total garbage policy! Meanwhile, they will SELL you overpriced #!%&* inside.

Was Cal Spirit juniors the team that had to start over because of music issues, i think. If this is the team that i'm thinking of their routine definitley
had the most difficulty in the division. They just seemed a little shaky maybe becuase of the restart. I would think they got the higher score before deductions.

Nor Cal and Cheer Odyssey both had good showings.  Royals had some good (fast) tumbling (i think coed level 4).

Good job everyone, especially after having a break during the holidays.

I think it's really sad that cheer teams feel like you have to attend an event.  there has got to be other competitions you can go to?

I thought it was an odd comment to make too, I didn't understand it.    To qualify for Jamz Nationals (which I still feel is an awesome competition with plenty of teams competing in each division) you have to attend at least one Jamz regional.   I think it's nice to mix the more stressful big competitions with a couple (few?) that are not as intense, but I think gyms that make a habit of it are missing the whole point of "competitive cheer".   I hope we see the same gyms at more populated competitions, like Spirit Spectacular or Athletic Championships coming up this month.

Congrats to all the winners yesterday.

This is my first time posting here, actually my daughters first year and was recommended this site to view. I have read many posts and since our team attended this last comp I would like to add my input.

The venue I thought was not very organized compared to other Jamz comps we have attended. And there happened to be some very ungracious winners. Actually I was disgusted by 1 team in particular. But i'll get into that later.

Norcal - Has definitely stepped up to the plate, they were shakey the beginning of the season but have really come out to the mat and blown me away. So much energy, just very entertaining to watch.

Jewels Cheer - Finally has their uniforms and you know what I think it has made a world of difference! Way to go on your 1st place.

Starstruck - Always so clean but something is definitely lacking in the cheer division - BUT WOWEE on your dance squads, good job! And yes the girl at the ending of the Sr 4 wonderful flexibility.

Team X - where did you guys come from? WHAT A GREAT ROUTINE! Congrats!

Odyssey - You definitely have very entertaining routines! Your Youth team - is AWESOME! Your Junior team - has great potential. Your Sr 3 team - WOW, definitely should have gotten 1st, but just wasn't your day, otherwise better team overall for sr.3 lg division.

This is where my disgust part comes in - I will not name names but  to an ungracious winner - Once they heard who was in 2nd place - screamed (i'm sure in their excitement) as their coach started in with the chanting. And 2 girls of this team loudly said "F*** Cheer -------" All I want to say is how horrible I think that team is, Just horrible. What? Why? Uck.

Cheer Xperience - Wonderful routines - You've done awesome so far this season!

And Odyssey struck - Terrific! Gave me tingles! Was that coach b out there?

CheerTyme loves JAMZ. My kids had such a great day, and were very proud of their performances and 3rd place finishes. I really enjoy JAMZ competitions and JAMZ staff.
I do agree the food sucked but thats not JAMZ's fault and it wasn't JAMZ who was checking bags it was the venue staff.
The late night awards are kind of a bummer, however, they did say thank you at the awards ceremony recognizing it was a school night, which I thought was nice.
I like that they alternate divisions from cheer to dance or cheer to a different cheer divison. It saves us from the 15 min. break between teams. Also for those of us who have dance teams it kept our day busy and we are able to keep all of our kids/spectators at the venue to support them. It is hard when they put dance at the end of the day and our little ones competed in the AM and already had their awards ceremony.
One thing I am noticing though, is that most the cheer teams who attend JAMZ are the same teams who have big dance programs. JAMZ has wonderful dance competition, but I think their cheer competition side is struggling a bit. I know some cheer teams do not like JAMZ because their scores and placements at JAMZ are always way off from the other competitions they have attended. I feel that we are always judged fairly at JAMZ, or not at JAMZ, but I have seen some "interesting" placements happen at JAMZ competitions that were way different the weekend before at "ABC Cheer Co". That can be a big turn off for cheer teams.
It was a great cheer/dance day.

Way to go all who competed.
CO - I just love your program, your staff is great and your kids are so talented. Congrats on a great day.
Odyssey Struck - You are my new fav!!! I was so excited to see you guys out there!!!! AND I AM IN LOVE WITH YOUR CHEER "2 gyms, together we shine!!!" love it!!!!
Starstruck - Your teams look great this year...I am loving you dance teams!!!
Royals - COED sr 4 looked awesome as always....Sr hip hop is so amazing, but I really liked the jackets better. =)
EDGE - Congrats on your 1st place Sr 3 finish. Your routine was filled with skills and very clean!! Way to go!!
FOOTNOTES!!!! - you will always be my favorite dance program!!!!!! You all are great performers and are so so so talented. Way to work it out!

In the end, we don't have to attend JAMZ competitions, we choose to.

This competition was whack,
Teams one that shouldn't have, which made me mad, I'm not going to say no names but there was a certin team which dropped a whole pyrimid and a couple of the one legged stunts, and other team was decent , no one fell , so I was disapointed with judging, props to nor cal ellite and royals you guys are both amazingg, it must have been a close one,

Nce-LOVED senior limited dance is the best and your minis are so cute,

Starstruck-there music seems so slow and it seems repetitive, loved your senior 4 team though,

Cheer odessy- I loved your minis and also the junior 4 dance, still a little shaky,

Odessy struck - fierce but I don't think its worlds material yet, especially if they go against the big dogd (cheertyme top gun etc.)

Royals- I loved your senior coed 4 dance, and I also liked your junior dance, the dance team was flawless, it was kind of like a story I kind of got it, oh and your minis are so cute to,

Jewls-that boy tumbled like 80000000000 times lol but I still liked it,

Swat-okay a lot of crossovers but your small senior 3 was good, and senior open 4 looked good to ,

Cheer experiance- loved it you guys seemed to have gotten more girls on yur senior team, beacuse at nationals there was only like 5, still needs a lot of help,

Vea- I loved your youth/junior team with the little boy who flys aww, that was nice great facials

Gold star-mini hip hop is the best there so cute,

Legends- needs a little cleaning up to do,

Edge- loved it , your uniforms , and one question did a girl puke ?

Well I thought judging was awfull but besides that I loved it ,

It looks like it was their Sr. Coed Level 4 that won the extreme senior award.  I've seen this routine at a couple past competitions and it was quite good, are you saying this team didn't deserve the award yesterday?  Did they have dropped stunts and mistakes?
