I was explained that the "New" Northern California Allstar Alliance (NCAA) was going to benefit parents, gym owners and venue's.
Example: The Alliance would talk with the venues on getting lower comp fees for each cheerleader because the "President" would get all gym owners to agree to go to the same comps thus the more entry fee's for the venues, (I was told) less expenses for the parents. I haven't seen any price drops in comp fee's. have you?
All Alliance members would agree to go to all "the same" comps, I haven't seen that all 20 gym owners who joined the alliance really want to go to the same comps. Have you?
What benefits have you seen or not seen? Any thoughts on the forming of a Nor Cal Alliance?
Will you be attending the GSSA comp this weekend? If so look for the scholarship comittee booth. There has been an enourmous amount (volunteer) work being done behind the scenes. I for one am grateful for all the hours that have been put in by the programs involved.
Yup! Yup! I have seen the great work my gym owner has invested into the Alliance. She is always sending out email blast about what she is doing in her "free" time as an alliance Executive board member. I really can't believe she is able to take on one more effort. She is the hardest working being I know. She works two full time jobs and still has time to make sure our cheerleaders are aware of all the efforts the Alliance is making. She is extremely excited about all the work she has done as part of the scholarship committee. She is even more excited to be able to give a college opportunity to allstar cheerleaders in Northern California. I guess she could be selfish and just work for her own gym and figure out a way to hand out a gym scholarship...wait what am I saying she is doing that to. It's the unselfish acts of kindness that will continue to make this Alliance. LOVE IT!!!
CAn we please have something like this in Southern California? The closest we ever got to this was a meeting about two years ago with GSSA staff, I think???, and we talked about meeting again, and never did.

i am happy and excited to see this taking off. our gym doesn't belong to this orginization, but I am hoping that our owner will consider it next season. please keep us all posted to what is new that is going on and of course scholarship winners. I think the more info that is provided, the more gym owners will want to take part of this.
great job to all those who are involved and have taken the reigns to make this happen.
