I really notice the teams that wear a lot of make up. It rarely looks overdone when they are on the floor and it does enhance the faces. Especially LIPSTICK! Okay girls, I know most of you don't like to wear lipstick, but it really does bring out the smiles. The girls that don't wear it you hardly even see their smiles.
I also love the false eyelashes with the rhinestones. You get that little flash of sparkle.
I try not to judge any of the make up off the floor. It looks so different under the lights.
Yeah i like the fun glittery make up. it may look crazy up close but it looks great from the stands when the cheerleaders are on the mat. the lipstick really helps your smile stand out. for older girls they should have to wear everything- powder, eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadows and lipstick and blush. but the little girls can look great in some simple eyeshadow, blush and lipstick
The thing I hate about cheer lipstick is my daughter is a bas, so when she throws her flyer etc, she always has lipstick on her arms and if it gets on the glitter lining part of the uniform the lipstick is hard to get out.
I love the Red Lips and glitter also. But you are correct the kids HATE it. It is messy and hard to keep on prior to the performance if they drink water or snack.
Color Stay lipsticks work pretty well. The kids tend to hate that too though. I never really understood why kids were asked to arrive with lipstick on. I know they're representing their gym but they look great without it, especially if they just add a clear gloss. "Lips" should be added just before they go on stage...or is that too much hassle with all of the excitement and jitters?
I would think that it might take too much time to put it on right before performing....the coaches are more concerned with the teams warming up than they are with getting their lipstick on. But I do agree....by the time they get out there to perform the lipstick doesn't look quite as good as it does when they first get there!
We put our girls "lips" on before we go into the warm up room. To answer the previous question, No it is not to much a hasstle to do, it is just something you have to set aside time for, and even tho we put "lips" just before warm up, it is still hard for the girls to keep them on thier lips.
Does anyone have a good stain remover tip. My daughters used the all day lipstick. Bright cherry red!!! Well never the less it is all over their sleves. The sleves of course are white. I have tried just about everything.
I use the shout wipes. The minute I notice the stain I rub the wipe on the stain. Then when I get home, throw the top in the washer. It seems to work. The wipe also works well with dirt from side line tracks and grass stains. Good luck.
