1. Name of Event - The American Masterpiece / American Championships -CTC 2. Location - Good surrounding area. Busy area with plenty of dining, shopping, and lodging options. 3. Venue - [-] Convention center hallways became easily crowded after 12:00 p.m. throughout the end of the night. Became hard to get anywhere. [-] Bad spectator seating. [-] Not enough food options of the menu. [+] Fast and easy walk to the convention center from the attached Marriott or Hilton. 4. Spectator Seating - There was no spectator seating in the arena which caused a blocked view pretty much anywhere you sat, just due to someone's head. There were not enough security personell at the front of stage, making it even harder to see, due to so many people standing up walking around. 5. Flow of competition - 2 hour lunch break seemed to slow down my day. Lunch break is a good idea, but possible only an hour. 6. Organization of competition - Organization seemed pretty well handled. I am not a fan of combining divisions, and with that being said, I did not like large and small teams competing together. I think there should be a courtesy call to a gym that is going to be put into a category with large teams. Spectator Pricing vs Participant Pricing - A little high. 8. Awards / Scoring - Could definitely tell that there were still the "judging jitters" going on. Technicality judge had to work out some kinks this weekend. Awards were ran very well. 9. Videotaping - Wasn't enforced. Our parents told strories of having to tell people to please keep their video camera off.

I would love for my family to come and see my child perform but there is no way to afford it. I think that you should be allowed to take your own pictures, prices way to high. Not to mention that the quality is usually not all that great and you knowing your childs routine you are more likely to get the pictures that you want. A few years ago we went to a competition in Hollywood and they had a photographer who gave you the option of paying $5 per team that you wanted on your video. That way you only got the teams you wanted. I think Jamz needs to seriously consider this because RT Productions is totally outrageous. Seating that is not stadium is pretty much a lost cause. Jamz needs to take a note from American Masterpiece, GSSA, Americas Best and run their awards show a little quicker or break it up through the day, way to long. I think a few of them could take a note from Jamfest and not charge their spectators, even at Nationals. I would rather pay a higher comp. fee. For the most part many of the competitions we have attended have been convienent and the location nice. I would like Jamz to bring Nationals to California, since Vegas is going back to a more adult mode and away from a "family" destination. Maybe in between teams to kill time some entertainment. That is one of the positives of Jamz, the girls and guys entertaining you. I know this is a long shot but better food and even that needs to be more reasonable. I mean $3.50 for a water a case at Wal-Mart is only $3.98. More places letting you bring your own food even better. Well for now that is all I can remember wanting to change. Thank you so much for asking and trying to see how we can make these competitions more affordable and run smoother.
Location - Easy to find, not too far for us to travel
Venue - Plenty of restaurants and hotels closeby, but it's huge and takes a while to get to the right hall/room once you're inside the building. The line to get tickets on Saturday morning was pretty long, we almost missed watching our first performance. Probably not much you can do about this since it was a well attended competition.
Spectator Seating - Really hate seating on the floor. Can't see over heads, people were constantly walking around during performances. I'll take a gym with bleachers over this anytime.
Flow of competition - Time between performances was short, but the two hour lunch break on Saturday was unnecessary; they need to find another way to give the judges a break.
Organization of competition It seemed well organized to me. I liked seeing teams perform one after the other in their division as opposed to alternating from one level to the other. They should be able to post the new schedule on their website Saturday night or at least by Sunday morning. It can't be that difficult to do, right? Maybe next time.
Spectator Pricing vs Participant Pricing - Would much rather pay higher competition fees and enter free. As others have mentioned, it's a lot to ask friends and relatives to pay to come and watch. Plus it's great to just walk in and not have to deal with buying tickets (as mentioned in #3 we almost missed a performance waiting in the long line to get tickets).
Awards / Scoring -Hearing exact scores would have been great. It's nice to know how close other teams were in each division. They should be posted on their website as well.
9. Videotaping/Photography - Not allowed with threats of asking spectators to leave if caught. My opinion is it should always be allowed. People will still pay for professional video and pictures if they choose, but they need to have a choice. While this competition did not allow it, I'm pleased most others do.
