PREACH on AMY :)  A win is a win regardless if the other team had falls, penalties, touch downs etc... The team that wins, wins becaisue they were the better team that day. No excuses just bring your A game.  Its our jobs as coaches to make sure our teams are ready, penalty free and solid.  If we have any of those problems the day of the competition, oh well.

Im with you, just be mature about it and come back and spank some butt the next time. 
There is nothing wrong with cheering on and wishing the other team good luck. You can still be competitive and still want to kick their butt at competition. But have some dignity in how you win and even lose.  I know that if we feel like we shouldve beaten a team at comp, we go back and make sure we leave no questions next time.  thats called being competitive. 
Im not going back in my gym with excuses or lies. just get on the mat and lets get better.
Love you guys at cheertyme.  Your gym is a step above the rest when it comes to positivity. keep it going Amy.

Oh I know, you think that competition is fierce between the teams and on the message boards, but finding seats at competitions can get ugly.  We were at a competition one time and had placed our girls gym bags on a few seats around us.  Another team's parents threw our things off of the seats (literally in the aisles!) because we were sitting in "their section." The irony of it thought was they said it was because we were "saving seats" but they were mad because we were in seats that they were saving!  LOL - When the parents act like that and their kids are watching, how do you think their kids will behave?  Rather than argue with them, we moved to another section and sat with parents from another competiting gym who also were appalled at how this particular gym just took over a whole section of the arena with such an air of entitlement.  Parents, remember: your kids are watching you.

it does make me feel more proud when i beat team who really did their best and when my team does our best too. its like you can say we beat that team because we are better or the other way around too. if we lose at least we know that we just need to step up our skills.
