OMG Please so you hate OC that much! They must have kicked your daughters team pretty bad! OC has always had great teams. Some may be good some may be awesome but for you to to post that they have always been bad shows everyone on this post that you are afraid!

Showcases are great for family and team bonding! Thats why we started it in our area, now most teams do something similar.
My Team (MAGIC All-Stars) Has ours on Dec 7th. We love it because its no pressure, lots of old friends attend, and we could care less if you video. We don't charge (unlike most) it is not a fundraiser for our gym (unlike most) it is just a "family" get together. We will all do battle sooner or later and the judges (yikes!) will decide the winners and lossers.

Let's all just relax, keep working hard and supporting our athletes! Competiton time is here YAH!!!!!!!!
If your in town please come by and watch, video, whatever!

I think it should be up to that particular gym period! Everyone has their own preference. Maybe the gym feels nervous about people videoing when they are testing the waters. That is perfectly fair. Or maybe they could care less. That's just great t too. Either way, why do you care people!

I guess your right. Everyone should be able to choose what is right for them.
The only thing I have against OC or any gym that hides or "gaurds" routines that have never been industry changers.

TOP GUN Coed, CheerAthletic Panthers, WorldCup Shooting Stars these teams can justify it!

Hello everyone,

Rumor is that we aren't allowing video at our showcase. Fortunately, that is just a rumor. We are allowing it. Perhaps this is just me, but I usually try to ask the source before jumping to conclusions. I know I know, I'm weird like that...

However, I do see how people are worried about videos of their routines popping up. I know I for one am not worried about anyone stealing anything from our routines because 1. Our routines are a work in progress and we're at the basic step right now and 2. Imitation is the highest form of flattery and if someone wants to use something I've done then that means I'm doing something right. I think most people are just worried about the criticism. It's not easy to hear some of the things people have to say about something you put your heart into. I fully understand that its the risk you take for the job we do, it's just not very easy to hear someone trash something you work very hard on.

So if you'd like to come to our showcase by all means, join us! Bring your video camera (I know I'm bringing mine!), your tape recorder, your camera's and all of your friends! And when you put our video's up on youtube, steal away.

Do you really believe people will be copying you or anyone else that has thier new routines up.
I think that the myth of "Sparky" is just that a myth.
I do however think your right that the main motivation to not wanting routines posted is the "criticisim". It is a reality for us but it is very hard on the parents and kids.
I hope next weekend goes well. You may see me there. (no video camara I promise!) lol. biggrin

Must be another so california team that would be on the attack of OC. OC you must have really gotten to this person for them to be so mean spirited. Your programs either stuffed them in a corner, or its some pissy cheermom being a jerk.
