RE: can fliers and bases be rotated midseason

i actually enjoy basing. its less stressful and its actually pretty fun. yea flyers get a lot more attention on the competition floor and there are lots of action pictures of them but i would choose basing over flying anyday. i love the feeling of knowing that you kept your flyer up in the air. its you own little glory thing.

Why does everything think the onnly glory position is the flyer.  good god everyone needs to get over it.  become the best all around cheerleader you can be.  until you can be the center point or last pass cheerleader in every formation you can all improve on something and get better.

        That is so true.

Great words of wisdom from all those that have replied. Thanks for your input.

I think I may have a daughter that just wants to try it all. The coach asked each girl to write down their goals and her were: BH, fly, and take 1st place. She's definitely a competitive little girl and works very hard. She's been a base for a year, front and backspot for two, she now has her backhandspring and is working on standing BH. I think she's just gotten her confidence up enough and is now thinking she just wants to try one more spot she hasn't done yet. No harm, no foul.

I don't know enough to know if she's capable but was interested in finding out how one gets the opportunity to try it. Is it a next season thing or not?

I checked into flight schools but only found one locally but didn't get any reply to my inquiry. Not sure I'd want to send her there.

Don't get me wrong, she loves and is happy doing what she's doing. She always does what the coaches ask without complaint and is eager to learn new things.
