While we are on this topic... All-star gym/ team members need to stop referring to themselves as cheerleaders!  Unless you actually cheer for a sports team you are NOT A CHEERLEADER!  You are a performer or a dancer but not a cheerleader.  Who do you route for?  Yourself?

You are wrong, it's called sideline cheer, versus extreme sports cheer.

its called hardcore cheer! ive done high school cheer and pop warner before i decided to allstar cheerleading.. and nothing compares to this sport! straight up! ive done soccer, tennis, softball, and basketball and seriously this is the hardest sport ive ever done. im sorry competitive cheerleading has high school cheer beat without a doubt!hmm

Sorry...but it is much more satisfying to watch my daughter out there working hard at a tough sport (extreme sport as some others have mentioned) than to see her out there cheering for other people competing....how fun is it to say "whoo hoo....my daughter sure can cheer on those football players..."

Not to take anything away from HS cheer. Not everyone is cut out for HScheer, or all star for that matter!

FUnny the jealosey that goes on, doing HS cheer requires you have to maintain grades ,cheer for football and basketball and volleyball and still compete! you go to all-star when you can't handle it all!!!!  ALl the members on this team went through our jR.program and tumbled at the same time taking tumbling lessons, not being competitive gymnasts!!! Get your facts straight before you assume!!! oh and let's see your all star team pull all that  on a regular mat floor, not on a spring floor!!!! YES ALL DONE ON A NON SPRING FLOOR!!!

Hey each person can have an opinion. Not sure why we are going back and forth about High School and All Star. They are both great and have different talents. :)

Being new to this topic i'm afraid i'm going to have to make a comment here (I mean my name is MrCommentary)...
All star cheer will never be high school cheer and High school cheer will never be all star cheer!  They are different and if you have never cheered or coached for both of them, then you might not quite understand the difference.  It's like comparing softball to baseball.  Many people think they are the same thing but only the people that have actually played both or one of the sports knows that they are different.  They are on two different levels!  Not that one is at a higher level than that of another, they both have their pros and cons.  Everyone has their opinions and are entitled to them.  But stop hating on each other when both sports (yes ALL cheerleading is a sport) have their ups and downs.  We all work hard in this business and in order to gain the respect of other athletes from other sports we need to just respect each other and refer to all cheerleading as a sport!  Thank you and good luck to ALL teams on this board.
