we are less than a month away from the start of cheer season and first competitions and our team has not put thier whole routine together or done it full out, we dont even have all of our music this is crazy and i am really getting worried...
are we the only ones out there without all of our stuff, I know you won't name your gyms but I really want to know how other people feel about this in the cheer world

I think alot of gyms feel this way, and it's normal. Don't worry about it too much, just trust your coaching staff.
Is anybody else willing to admit that their teams aren't up to par or ready to compete yet? As a coach, I'm totally freaked to have a couple of my teams compete next month!! We aren't ready and we are expected to be good!

OMG!!! I just started another topic asking the same thing!! I guess I'm not alone!! Hopefully we aren't from the same gym
I was worried up until tonight. My kids hit their routine and it was great. I was shaking after they we done. I almost got teary eyed. They have been working so hard to get it together in time for this weekend and I was so proud that it was finally coming together.
Good luck to your teams, I know most all atar cheerleaders are gamers and it always turns out better than we expect once they hit the floor. I am sure you will do just fine!!!
Oh lord. We have a dance, a pyramid, tumbling and stunts. Have never seen them united as one into 2.30 seconds! However, things have amped up this week as we compete soon. Our coaches and teams always seem to pull it off.
well i know im not from the same gym because we at least have our music... but our team. omg. the drive from the beginning of the season just doesnt seem to be there. we compete in less than a month too and already started to water things down. it really dissappoints me. hopefully the team will start putting their hearts back into it once we start competiting and get a fresh taste of the mat. hopefully.
Isn't it crazy that some teams actually competed in September!!! I can't even imagine. Good luck to all, we all seem to pull through at the last minute.

I know. The week before our first comp our coaches were literally pullling their hair out worried sick over the competition. Had our perfromance nght and all teams looked good. Went to the first comp and everyone did fantastic. I know it it is stressful but keep plugging away and believe in yourself, your coaches, your teammates, and the routine. it will all come together.

I couldn't even imagine trying to compete in September or October. We are 1 month away from our first competition and finally starting to pull it together. We have all our music, but still tweaking our routine and have yet to do the entire routine full out.....UGGGGHHHH!!!!
I feel your pain -- we had to scrap one of our themes this year (and we are starting over), new theme, new music, new everything. But it will all work out -- and this new theme looks better than ever...

I think we are from the same gym, I WILL NOT say were but I will say we have a very strong rep, and I dont know if we will live up to it this year........
JMO the first couple comps are usually a little rough for everyone. Most teams need to put a couple comps under their belt to work out all the rough spots. Even teams with so called good reps. The season is just starting and frankly last year was last year. It's a whole new season and who knows whose turn it is to shine?

Don't worry, you are not alone. Our gym always starts off shakey and gets off to a slow start the first couple or few competitions. Sometimes I'm embarrassed at how bad we look at the start. We've had some last minute changes we have to deal with and our first competition is less than a month away. But we usually pull it together and finish strong, which is better than starting off strong and weakening towards the end. The key is if you start off shakey, make the proper adjustments early on. And have faith in your coaches, they know what they're doing.

This is sooooo true!! I know there have been several times when I'm watching practice (even the one right before a competition) where I'm thinking (silently, never to my daughter or her coach) "Oh man! we're gonna get squashed!" Then comes the comp and I'm floored with how well they pulled it all together, in some cases so much so that her team received first place.
So, I say never fear it will most likely be fine and, if not, just remember it is your first competition of the year and this may be what your team needs to light a little fire into the cheerleaders.
In my OPINION << understand that word please, lol..
If the team is working on the skills and are advancing skill wise, the put together of the routine won't be so hard.. Many coaches wait to see just how much "amazingness" they can pull out of their kids. I know I LOVE teaching my kids a bunch of stuff, creating new stunts, pyramids, trying things out and what not and only keeping the best stuff!! So parents if the worry is coming from you, trust your coaches! They're the best at what they and do, voice the concern too! That may open some room for you to get some answers as to why this is happening...
As for coaches that are afraid your fellow coaches in the program aren't finished, talk to em about, they might need a little inspiration or help..? That, or they might just not know how damn scared they're making you! Lol. If anything, trust your staff, believe in the staff selection and when voicing concerns, remember your manners! =)
I've been on both sides of the stick =) & have even met and know of MANY choreographers who work best during crunch time!!! So something awesome may come of it! Let's hope! GOOD LUCK!
