SCF (south coast freestyle) -- but we only do all-star dance, no cheer teams

Gold Star in Mountain View has dance teams. I can't say how strong they are.
I only know that they have some.

You are soo right the dance teams are amazing and fun to watch,too bad the cheer teams are not as good as the dance teams though!!

Even though I am with SCF, I do think PACE has some great dance teams. Their Hip Hop is always fun to watch and their open dance team is always great too... They are a great compititor and I am always excited to see what they have every year.

Back on topic -- "cheer gyms with pom/dance teams"

There really are not a lot in Cali, unless you consider Hip Hop. There area few cheer gyms that offer and compete in hip hop as well as cheer. However the new trend, that I have seen are a few gyms teaming up with dance studios to offer cheer and dance alternatives. Let the the dance studio girls do extra all-star comps in addition to their studio comps. Most studio comps start in Feb and end in June, so it works out. APEX in So Cal is 1 and there are a few more down here "trying it out this year".
