From the Jamz website:

There are 3 qaulifiers in the west coast

Stockton Xtreme - October 26, 2008 (Stockton, CA)

Long Beach Xtreme - January 18, 2009 (Long Beach, CA)

JAMZ All-Star Nationals- February 18 - 23, 2009 (Las Vegas, NV)

JAMZ is pleased to be offering the 1st WEST COAST and 2nd NATIONALLY qualifying event for the International All Levels Championship on October 26, 2008 in Stockton, CA.

Divisionsoffered:

Divisions offered at the USASF Cheerleading Worlds, Tiny divisions, and Mini divisions will not be offered at the International All Levels. All other Senior, Junior and Youth divisions in Levels 1 through 5 will be offered at the International All Levels Championship and bids will be given in those divisions at JAMZ qualifying events. All USASF Dance World Divisions will be offered.

PaidBid

ONE team from each qualifying event will be granted a paid bid for registration fees, a $4,500 value.

partialpaidbids

First, second and third place teams in each division will earn a partial- paid bid to the International All Levels. Those teams will pay only $25, $45 and $65 per athlete, respectively, as opposed to the standard $85 registration fee. Therefore, earning a partial paid bid to the International All Levels Championship will save teams thousands of dollars in registration fees and cost.

AtlargeBids

JAMZ will also award five at large bids at each qualifying event at the discretion of JAMZ Cheer and Dance. These at-large teams will receive no discounts on registration to the IALC.

For additional information visit http://all-levels.com/ or email rules@jamz.com.

If a paid bid means paid registration fees, how is it a $4,500 value?  I don't know how many members CSE's Junior Level 2 team has, but say there are 20 ... $85 x 20 = $1700.   Just wondering where they get the $4,500 figure?   Is there more money involved with a paid bid then simply waived registration fees?

Good question...I was wondering the same thing...Does anyone know?

I think in the beginning it was going to be $125 for an at large bid qualifier. $125 x 36 (max) = $4,500.  When it changed "a $4,500 value" sounded better!

If you get 1st but not the paid, it's $25 per athlete.  If you get the paid, that fee is waved.  So the difference is only $25 between a 1st place partial and a fully paid bid.  It would be nice if they gave you money for travel too!

What happens if there are only three in a division -- all three qualify?  Or is it based on a high score of some sort?

$25 per athlete I mean, so for 20 athletes, they save $500 by getting the paid.

If they were planning on making the trip to Los Angeles, this saves them some money, good for them.  Just the thrill of being the high point winners of the entire competition must be a great feeling for this young team.

How did the higher levels look at this competition?

Thank you to everyone who has congratulated us for the paid bid. To be honest I was just happy they won their division and hit the routine. It is very early in the season so we were just looking to hit. Getting the division award and paid bid was icing on the cake. Those girls and all our teams have worked so hard so our entire staff is just very proud of them.

Just curious.  How did the competition go from a logistical standpoint?  Were they ontime?  Was the warm-up good?  Awards, etc.?

Warm ups were rushed as usual, but awards and energy was great. For everything anyone says about Jamz, they really do want the kids tobe happy and thats why we continue to return. I love that about them.

in my opinion, as both an uncle watching his niece cheer for the first time, and a coach watching my team compete for the first time as well, Jamz totally did an awesome job.
My niece had the best time of her life, and still hasn't stopped talking about performing,  as well as the added bonus of winning necklaces and other prizes. the Jamz staff made sure her first experience was an unforgettable one and I am so glad she loves cheer as much as her uncles and aunties do.
From a logistical standpoint, the competition ran well.  There was competition in almost every division, and there were no seating problems reported to the CO staff.  Every performer made it to the mat in a timely matter and warmups (though a bit fast) were equally provided to each team for 7 minutes.  the wait after warmups was very short, just enough to calm some nerves but not too long as to affect their body temp.
Awards I felt were extremely efficient, but fortunately still managed to include that heartfelt sentiment Jamz is known for.  They acknowledged all the family members in the stadium and even commented on the economy.  Although not word for word, the jist of it was, "in such tough economic times, investing in your child's happiness is one that will never go to waste."  I loved it, and it totally put the focus on the kids and reminded everyone attending about who we were there to support.

Cool!  Thanks for the report.  I'm looking forward to my team competing at JAMZ in SoCal!

Jamz really makes an effort to make everyone feel special, especially at Nationals.  If you have had the experience of winning one of their infamous jackets and jumping on stage for the group picture, you know what I'm talking about.  We have been to numerous Nationals and none of them top that feeling.  We love Jamz!

"I did see that UCF was giving out flyers on cars to sign up for their program. I got one on my windshield. talk abou tacky."

Yeah they were promoting their half year team.  This is just one more way to advertise.  It's a business.  I've heard their phone is ringing off the hook.  Way to go UCF!!!!!

Yeah well they have always had shady practices. Remember on their website when they were asking teams to bring in other gyms contracts for a discount or how about when they tried to pass themselves off as being part of Power. They love to videotape their competition as well.

it is a PERFECT example of how a message board is never BELIEVABLE!  it's comments like this one that takes direct stabs at a cheerleading business.  can't y'all just talk at a generic level instead of naming names or trying to bad mouth individuals?  Come on clean it up!  it will evenually get out about the gym you bellong to and then it will only make your gym look bad in the end.

Yeah, well when you continue to put yourself out there you create your own bad mouthing.

SOOO TACKY my daughter was given and flyer and told to join their REGULAR team.  SOOO.  Yeah they used that 1/2 year team thing as a way to recruit.  That should NOT be allowed to do this.  This is just like them. only UCF would do something like that.  It is too bad the cheerleaders are nice.  They need a new director.  That should not be doing this.  BAD BAD BAD.

Well that certainly got us pumped up for our next competition.

Cheer Odyessy - you all did a great job. Your teams did great acrossed the board.

All-Star Elite - Nice job ladies. You all must feel relieved to have that first competition out of the way. Fun routines to watch.

Callifornia Spirit Elite - what a pleasant surprise. You all did great and the routines look great this year.

Swat - we like the new look in your uniforms this season.

Over all we were quite impressed with the preformance last night. we think you all have gym or two nevrous about their seasons. A friend pointed out a gym coach up in the stands video taping minis to seniors in cheer and then dance teams as well.

Good luck to everyone this season!

Well that's gOod for them its none of ur business ? So mind your own and most of those teams looked a mess so your point is let coaches be coaches !

That's beacuse that coach does not feel confident about her team that's why why else would you be video taping others peoples material ?

All the posters above act like no coach ever does that ? How do you think top gun videos get leeked on youtube or and other team ?
And jamz reigonals you can vvideo tape its not illegal

Grow up y'all!  Get your fact straight before you jump on the board and misleading fellow readers.  We all know who is trying to put down UCF.  It's not going to work.  UCF has put their name on the map!  We wish them the best of luck!

oh come on people you know that so many gyms send out a spy to watch and even video tape their competitiors... big whoop!!! please football teams watch tapes of their competitiors too.. it makes you a stronger team.  so what they go back and watch tapes of their competitiors.  its part of the game.

and i agree why are putting out names unless you have a serious problem with ucf in the first place.  your dram is soooooooo old.

i have gone to plenty of comps to see what is out there.  be on your game and keep it fresh youll have nothing to worry about.

Who is it trying to put UCF down?  UCF does not need any help looking bad for they have too much experience in that area.  Believe me I was part of UCF and I heard what they said about others.  Isn't this like the pot calling the kettle black. I am just wondering why UCF continues to use this excuse.  Someone is after them?  I think that was done this Sunday at the competition, by UCF or when they told people to bring in their other gyms contract, or how about when they advertise something they are not? They are always manipulating the story to make their gym appear to be something they are not.  THAT IS MISLEADING READERS...
