the only one i feel i can really predict on is small small coed 5. Nor cal has been having some problems so i dont expect them to do well right out the gate but i do think they will get better as the season. This is las vegas elements 1st year with level 5 and they lost alot of their level 5 athletes to pac, so i dont think they will win, But i do think their style and choreography will help them. Then that leaves cheerforce, i heard they were pretty good so i have to go with them.
1st - cheerforce 2nd - las vegas elements 3rd - nor cal
The solo divisions are the only ones with no competition. We see that a lot, solo performances going against nobody. Don't mean to sound rude but you have to wonder, what is the point?
If i'm not mistaken the Group with the most divisions entered - even if it's a stunt group or single dance , whatever, gets an award $$.
So we'll go full circle here. This was the comment that indicated the point of solo's with no competition would be for the award $$$, but as we have found out, solo performances are not included. Back to the original question, what is the point of solo performances if they have no competition? You would think the competition company would contact them and give them a chance to get their money back. If competition companies are trying to group divisions together so that they always have competition, they need to do this for the solo performances too.

i think its way different with solos. with teams they put small an large together, with solos there are no small and larges. If you look at the schedule ther are 2 level 3 solos how can you make someone 7-9 compete against someone 13-15? Thats like combining the mini and junior divisions together
7-9 year olds compete against 13-15 year olds all the time (thanks to all the open divisions). But I see what you mean, I don't see a way they could combine them. But out of nine divisions that have solo performances, eight have no competition. Only one out of the nine has one other competitor. So what exactly are these solo performers paying for, to perform on stage? They are supposed to be paying to compete. I would hope they would get some sort of refund or discount when there are no others in their category.
The Solo performances are just to appease parents who think that their kids are so special that they are being held back by the other kids on the team. They have to have their moment in the spotlight, because let's be honest, the other kids on the team are just in the Soloist's way.

I have to agree with this . The other level 5 division are really hard to perdict. Cheerforce, Fierce, Power and One Athletics?? Wow, i think it will go to whoever hits a clean routine. All those teams are excellent. As for the junior 5 division... Again Cheerforce and Power are excellent teams. Although a team of 32 against a team of 18, IDK. Whoever hits clean or has the most difficulty? It too hard to call.

I see why there are solo performers, but I still think it's unfair to have to pay to go up there and perform without competing. I'm not saying I agree with solo performances (it's a team sport?), but I know why some gyms do it. Obviously there are less gyms participating in it, based on the schedule.

So they shouldn't have to help pay the bill. That is what I like about people who think it is everybody elses job to pay for the facility, the lights, the people working the place, come on now. You want to get out there and shine, then pay up. Or is it about redistributing the wealth in your behalf. "Let the other guy pay for it."
Being a retired senior 5 member this year, i normally only watch senior 5 divisions, so that's what im going to predict.
junior 5 1)POWER
junior coed 5 1) cheerforce
small senior 5 1)POWER 2)cheerforce 3)Fierce 4)one athletics
small senior coed 5 1)cheerforce 2)las vegas elements 3)nor cal
int'l open 5 1) POWER
int'l open coed 5 1)nor cal 2)cheer odyssey
I think the most controversial division with be small senior 5. I know there has been a lot of "hype" about one athletics, but personally i think they'll be a bust (even though i hope them the best). i love watching fierce but in past years they are to sloppy and not consistent (but wow the flexibility in those stunts). i think it will be a close 1st/2nd between POWER and cheerforce. I know there has been a lot of talk about POWER not being as good as in past years becasue they lost a lot of veterans, but they have got a lot of knew incredible talent. Sooo i feel they could take the show with their routine! I hope all teams the best of luck and i hope that this comp turns out to be a shocker!! Hope to see everyone there!

i agree with al of these. Small 5 will be a close race for 1st/2nd between power an cheerforce. I think who ever hits will take it. As for, Junior 5 i think it will be 1st Cheerforce 2nd Power since they are combined.

there are not int'l open coed 5 teams at this comp

This comment is so far off base and obviously uneducated. Individuals give a chance for athletes to show off individual talents. Believe it or not, these athletes can do more tricks not displayed in the team routine. Sometimes their is no time or place in the routine, so the individual divisions are a good chance to shine. On the collegiate level they have partner stunt, similar to the slam dunk contest in basketball. I am not sure why people hate on these divisions so much. You actually see some GREAT athletes, skills and great choreography. I used to LOVE watching the individuals at USA nationals, along with many of the Florida competitions, including stunt groups as well.
I think you are missing the point. If solo performers were competing against other solo performers, then it would make sense. But as it turns out, when there is no competition, and there rarely is, they are paying to basically perform on stage. They are paying money to showcase their talent. Doesn't that seem odd to you? So what I'm saying is when that's the case, it would be nice if the competition company notified them they have no competition and gave them some options instead of simply taking their money. We all know why gyms have solo performers, we're all "educated" in that respect. In your slam dunk example, correct me if I'm wrong but I doubt the players had to pay anything to compete in that individual event. And that is an actual competition, they are going against other players. Not a great example to make your point.
