I think you will see fewer crossovers in the future from NCE, I was under the impression that it was more of a Roy thing and now that he is gone I think you may see them competed at more appropriate levels, such as the Senior 2 team, I have never seen a level 2 team come out of SouthBay or NorCal so that is exciting. Goodluck with your new changes and see you guys soon.
This is a fun competition, but based on what I saw last year, some words of advice. Make sure your routine is clean. The judges pretty much rewarded simple and clean over difficulty. I guess that's one good thing about 2-day competitions; you can try a little more difficulty that first day, and if it doesn't work out, simplify it for the 2nd if it gives you a cleaner sharper routine. Just my take on it.
You are right. CTC/AC has always judged this way. The cleanest and most difficult routine wins.
The cleanest routine will win over the most difficult. No extra points for difficulty. This isn't the case at other competitions, so you need to know what kind of judging you are going against and adjust accordingly.

Just an example to support this. Spirit of Texas has been one of the top gyms in cheer for a long time. They don't always put out routines that match the difficulty as the other gyms (SoT does have a lot of difficulty though), but they make sure every last part of their routine is perfect and clean. That is why they beat the teams that have more difficulty.
