Thank you for you kind words. :) I'm just excited to meet up with all of you at future competitions! I have some very good friends in the cheer world, due to cheergyms.com, and I'd like to keep it that way! No need for negativity at all.... after all, we're all on this for the same reason right? Because we're all passionate about all star cheer! DUH!

I have to to tell you as a parent of one of those very talented cheerleaders that gave three years of their lives to POWER the program has gone so far down hill. I think there can be no program until the owner and coaches realize that these young cheeleaders are their program. My daughter gave up three years of week nights, weekends, and private lessons beyond the regular cheer schedule, and in the end couldn't even get a letter from her cheer coach at POWER for recommendation for her high school cheer team. She is cheering for her high school and finally feels appreciation for her skills.Good luck POWER,smile

Sounds like someone is a little bitter...Since only one cheerleader from last years level 5 teams are doing only HS and not involved in All-Stars in anyway this year, it is pretty obvious to the other parents and cheerleaders who you are.

Two words for you
work ethic...

You can go to practices, do your privates, but at the end of the day if you are just there as a body and not in spirit, or there to work what skills you want and not what the team needs you are not part of the team.

Why would the coaches recommend someone to a high coach that does not strive for the betterment of a team, but only herself???

We are glad you have found somewhere that you are happy.

CAN I GET THIS BLOWN UP POSTER SIZE TO PUT IN MY GYM. I HATE IT WHEN PARENTS SAY THEIR KIDS IS ALWAYS THERE. WHO CARES IF SHE IS THERE ALL THE TIME IF HER ATTITUDE STINKS AND SHE PUTS IN LITTLE TO NO WORK ETHIC. COME TO PRACTICE READY TO WORK AND THEN YOU WILL GET MY GRATITUDE.

This post reminds me of the politicians lately.   They bring their opponents down with harsh words and negativity, and then have the nerve to say with a smile good luck.   How two-faced.

Errr, I'd be bitter too if I spent three years some place and couldn't even get a reference letter.

I had a question about this comment (edited out the other parts because I am not part of the mentioned situation.)

I have always thought that it was okay to work on skills not needed by the team in privates if that was your goal.  I've always thought the team tumbling classes were for working team goals.  This is not to say team goals can't be worked on in privates, but I just never thought what some did or did not do in privates should be upsetting to some other than the cheerleader in the private.  Seems weird.

I think you bring up a very good point.   If you have the tumbling skill(s) needed for the team,  it shouldn't matter what you work on in privates.   Now I do agree if you don't have what they need for the routine it would be selfish not to work on those specific skills in your private sessions.

Please dont confused yourselves cheerleading is a service industry. If she pays for it you can work on whatever the customers wants. tumbling classes and practices are diffrent. Even if the student does nt have the required skills for the team yet. You cant tell the level 2 student they cant work on tucks becuase its not in the routine. How will your program ever get better.Privates are a luxury for student and COACHES I know alot of coaches who could nt live with out them. Even cheerathelictics coaches make the bulk of thier salary on privates.

Four words for you--get your facts right. There are several girls who were on the five team doing only high school cheer. My daughter had great work ethics, she worked her butt off at POWER, and the last year in particular there was extreme favortism and no appreciation for the girls who were the program. Why do you think so many left this year? When it comes down to it--the girls are the program and if they are not appreciated and treated fairly, they have no reason to work the program or let the program work them.smile
