If you ask me ccg is really a gym to worry about. As a fan of level 5 teams you have to see the real talent. Do not get me wrong but there are some So. Cal teams that just do level 5 to say the offer level 5 if you know cheer you may agree that all level 5 teams should have a quarter of thier team with a standing full and more 3/4 of the team doing a running and tricked out tumbling with a doublefull or at least a full at the end. Last year the teams that went to Worlds from Cali. just went and crumpled and did not belong the teams that did belong were those that deserved it and at least placed in the top 5. You got to admit back east they bring out the best and cali.'s got to do better and come out on top this year not just 5 but all levels and show what Cali.'s is made of Coaches need to but their teams in the proper levels and give thier teams the challenge and if they get better then move them up a level but do not put them in a level that do not belong in, have pride in your gym coaches and give the kids a chance to show you what they got and do not assume if you start them at a higher level they will win. Competiton is here and all teams in each level especially 5 got to show your talent and show that you belong if not you might as well kill the sport all together because we want to see the best not sit there and yawn.
I'm not from CA (california all stars) nor am I really a fan but I do have to say this, they didn't have a quarter of their team do standing fulls or 3/4 doing tricked out passes to doubles yet they took home second in the world.
What CA has is an understanding of what judges see and what they don't see. They know how to highlight their strengths and hide their weaknesses and make people believe they have more talent then they really do.
You don't need to max out your skills. You need to have good kids with good coaches and a good routine.
umm...u mena TopGun..Cali coed didn't hide skills and actually had nearly half the team throwing double toe fulls...but agreed not about maxing out on skills at all..this past year more than any proved that at worlds..

No, I meant CA. CA Small Senior 5. But yes, I think teams will shy away from maxing out skills, especially in lower levels as I can't imagine cheer becoming that boring to watch. Like watching a Level 5 gymnastics meet. Same routine over and over and over...
I think that everyone is going to come out strong. There have been so many new doors opened in the last few years of cheerleading, and I think everyone has caught onto it. Everyone is looking for the most creativity and to show off never before seen skills. I think everyone is going to be great and I have a feeling that this season is going to be a showstopper. I can't wait for competitions... espescially San Jose! John, Richard & Lindsey... I missed you this past year and I can't wait to see you again! I'm stoked to see everyone!
