I think it is good. We should report injuries. That's how sports science works, you report injuries the docs tell you how you can adjust things to have less risk of injury. I wanna cheer forever not until I am too hurt to cheer anymore. Kudos to these parents for doing something positive instead of tazering or smackin the coach! I did the injury report thing, too!
I remember seeing this on that cheerleading injury special not too long ago. It seemed to me it didn't keep you safe from the majority of the injuries they mentioned (neck, knees, for example).
The cheer safety vest sold by Core Atheltics was made for karate and says on the manufacturer's label
"intended only to reduce the risk of accidental injury to the covered chest area during no contact or light contact martial arts sparring supervised by a qualified instructor"
I was so mad when I got it. How ridiculous that cheer companies allow him to sell it for cheerleading when it was never made for it. Not to mention he makes it sound like he made it himself on the E! show. Does Jim Lord know about this vest? AACCA or USASF should do something before some kid gets hurt.
Can you read coach dj? The label says it is not tested for cheerleading and will not help with internal injuries! How can you back someone that lied to everyone and claims to be some safety company! REad label again, it will protect your cheerleader will they are sparring!
I guess your team is a duel sport. We're a cheer team and we want safety equipment that has been tested for cheerleading. Shame on Core Athletics for advertising a product that was made for another sport.
it actually says it reduces the risk of injury. Honestly, I have no clue if this vest would work out not but it seems like a good concept to help protect some of the individuals in the sport of cheer. I know this item will only go so far with the idea of protection but I bet it works with some people.
It would not be a good thing if it's worn or sold under false pretences; the claim is that it doesn't prevent internal injuries and anyone who buys or wears the vest without verifying this would be wasting their money and possibly putting their athlete in even more danger because they may have this false sense of safety.

I agree. If the vest can help great! It is not like there is a lot of safety equipment available, but the company selling stuff should test the vest and advertise it for what it is.
