Just seems his opinions are always in line with Varsity aka AACCA aka USASF aka ICU aka USA Cheer. Just don't think that is a coincidence. Just my opinion, but I am not a "big deal" in the cheer industry though.
Too funny. No, I don't work for (nor get paid by) USASF or any other cheer entity. I have received speaking fees and judging fees to cover my expenses on occasion, but that is the extent of money coming my way.
If you think I always agree with the groups you've outlined, then you haven't seen everything I've ever posted. But the truth of the matter is that when I disagree with something from one of those groups, I don't spend a lot of time posting it publicly. I try to contact someone that can actually make a difference and make my case privately. It's amazing how much can get accomplished when you don't publicly humiliate or antagonize someone, but instead give them a rational argument for making changes or improvements.

Seriously, because this emergency plan is so nice. It explains a lot of details. I hope everyone has one and starts practicing it. Has anyone heard of a gym or competition company that rehearses it? That's such a good idea, it's like a fire drill.
Great idea, I am going to show this to my gym director today. Thanks to whoever made this post. It's about time someone started pushing safety without trying to ruin cheerleading.
I have never even heard of an emergency plan. This is really needed in case an injury does happen. We all know injuries happen in cheerleading. The 911 call was crazy. Everyone should listen to Lauren Chang's 911 call so they know why we should pratice the plan.

Just because there is an hysterical 911 call doesn't mean there wasn't a plan in place and/or people weren't doing their job. ANYONE can call 911 and they are all recorded.

Exactly! I was reading some of the responses to the video and I was thinking just because some random person in the stand made a phone call doesn't mean that 1) they were the "official" person to call and 2) that there wasn't a plan of action that was being followed by the "official" person.
The emergency plan is definitely a good one and I hope that all gyms have one.
There is no other call. I know it is hard to accept. These are facts. Just as it is a fact that first responders were moms who are nurses from the crowd and they did not even look for internal injuries, instead looked for an epipen for severe allergic reactions. Meanwhile her lungs crushed her heart cutting off oxygen to her brain leading to her death. Delayed emergency medical services can cost a cheerleader their life. Bottom line: This emergency plan sets a precedent making it not an option but the minimum standard of care. Now that's protecting kids and putting their health and welfare before profits.
We just did our rehearsal of the emergency plan form the National Cheer Safety Foundation and I thought it was a good idea to know what to do. I know injuries can happen and now I know we can handled it if it does.
We even applied for a grant to receive a risk management assessment of our gym. I was leery to register the emergency plan but after talking to the Safety Ambassador for my area I am sold that they are the real deal and want to help promote cheer.
