i really am not trying to start anything. my reason is for people to see what they wanted to see & missed or heard of but didnt get to.
i have no bad intentions whatsoever. & as i have said before. if they would like it taken off. i'd be glad to, just let me know. not here to be stick in this maboojumboo.
i just love cheer.
Ok. I am glad that your intentions are not bad. Sadly not every one is as kindly intentioned as you say you are. Likewise everyone that says they are a "fan" is not. I know of a gym right now that will post any of their competitiors videos but if someone from another gym posts their videos they will pressure them to take them down. Others will knowingly post "bad" routines from other gyms or post routines to see who is throwing what kind of skills to either research that teams weaknesses or to intentionally recruit (what I call drafting) the standout performers. (Sidebar - It was funny to me that the first posting of our gym's first trip to World's was not made by us but by someone in Texas. It was done three weeks before we ever put it up on our website. They were not doing anything bad with it because they posted everyone's World's video they could get, so we let them keep it up.)
Believe me no one is trying to stick you in any "mamboojumboo" as you say (haven't heard that one in a very long time....lol) but so many of us have seen it done for the wrong purposes. Those who do it just because they love cheer may most the videos but are sensitive to that gym's wishes and will not allow negative comments to be posted about any gym they have posted.
I know there are websites where you can post those routines and direct people to them. Even this site has a You Tube thread specifically for that purpose. If it is ok with those gym owners then you could probably post them there with no problems.

Point well taken. Those are last years routines, so what's the big deal? At our gym, the owners don't tell anyone they cannot post out teams' routines. As far as they are concerned, you can't stop others from video taping your routines, so what's the sence in getting upset? It is what it is. As far as posting routines from the current season, we all understand some gym owners don't want the routines posted, and yes you should have permission to do so... and most people would respect those decisions. These are last years routines, they have NO affect on any teams progressions this year. New year, new teams, new talent, new kids... and new routines. I have enjoyed the vidoes that have been posted. You're not hurting anyone posting them... they are from last season.
Last year's, two years ago, three years ago, it doesn't matter. If the gyms say it's okay to post, feel free to do so. Otherwise let THEM post their routines if they want them on youtube.
okay i give up. i didn't think doing a favor would turn into something like this. sorry to everyone. & for the person who is being rude. dont be disrespectful. that is just unnessicary. on that note, i would like to ask nicely to CLOSE THE THREAD. because its turned into to something its not.
