So we have many gyms out there, where did everyone get their start? How long has your gym been around? Why did your gym owners pick the theme, colors, names of your gym? Did it have a special meaning, or a sentimental one? Just curious. With so many gyms out there, I think it would be fun to know a few little fun facts about everyone. Also, uniforms have come a long way in both design, and color choices, as well as simplicity and having a lot of "flashy-ness" All Stars don't have your typical knife-pleated skirts anymore, or the old school braiding either... they seem to be more sparkly, and flashy. I have seen several trends as far as uniforms, hair styles, make-up, music, choreography (etc) go over the years having my children in cheer. What were your favorite "old school" cheer looks verses the ones we have today?
The name of my gym has a very special meaning to me. When I was growing up my grandfather was a very big influence in my life. He had an old flight jacket from WWII when he was active in the army. He was part of the Airborne division as a medic. I loved the design of the Airborne logo and since I respected my grandfather so much I really wanted to honor him as he passed when I was about 12. He was such a strong yet gentle man and I am proud that when my kids take the floor they have the wings on their chest.
