Team colors

what is the difference between the same level/different color teams, is one more advanced, or just a different team? I.E. Senior black or silver like at American or other Cali gyms? Sorry, I'm a newbie mom.

I believe it's just a way to identify the team they are referring to.  Some gyms, use the same colors for the same level (1-5), others switch it around each year, and others do it based on age group (mini, youth, jr, sr).   I recall OC cheer had random colors unrelated to the gyms colors for their teams (i.e. Team Pink).  Especially when you have a gym with muliple teams and younger ages, it's easier to say youth blue, rather than small youth level 3.

Some gyms also have themes, and give their teams names that cordinate with that. Examples are like Cheerforce, they have a rock theme, so some  of their team names are Rockiez, Gemstonez, Avalanch, Sapphirez... etc.
There is also West Coast All Stars & Pacific Coast Cheer have similar team names like Heat, Inferno, Eclipse, Blaze...etc.
Also Magic all stars.. Little Dipperes, Shooting Stars. etc
