Yes, please don't assume if you have parents who are not part of the funraising activities they are just sitting on their rumps trying to take advantage of the others.   Parents who don't have the time and are willing to opt out of any fundraising profits should have that option.  They should not be forced to do any fundraising activities; been there done that with pop warner and little league, should not have to do it with a private gym if we're willing to pay the tuition out of pocket.

You are not allowed to fundraise for tuition anyway. Only fees that help pay for travel, uniform, camps, banquets and other cost were the gym does not make a profit.

Does any gym in Norther California make a profit? no.gif

I know southern cali, too!

You are allowed to pay for services.  I called the IRS and asked.

Yes there are parents that would rather pay out of pocket than fundraise.  Hey good for you, but there are parents that don't do anything!  They take advantage of peoples kindness.  Shame on you!  How can you do that?

you are not allowed to pay for tuition unless your gym is completely non profit.  I work for the irs and that statement is false! if your parents are paying for tuition and you are a for profit gym, you are in direct violation of the tax laws.  what gym are you from and please change your procedure immediately.

you may pay for uniforms, travel, equipment etc.. no money raised can be used for tuition. again only if your gym is completely non profit

Why "shame on you" to anyone.  I hate fundraising.  I hate to support fundraising.  I hate delivering things, buying things, selling things.  I am happy to pay my way 100% so that I don't have to do anything.   I absolutely support other people's choices to fundraise as long as I do not have to be involved.

I'm pretty sure the "shame on you" was to the parents that are a part of the booster club but don't do any fundraising and yet the booster club shares all monies with all members.

It wasn't directed to those parents that pay for everything 100%.

Yes, I agree, that comment was towards the parents who reap the benefits of the booster club yet do nothing.  I'm also one of those parents who hates buying and selling things.  I'm always embarrassed if I have to ask someone to buy something from me to support my daughter's all star cheerleading.  Now this is just my opinion but.... there are so many unfortunate people these days that if I'm going to ask anyone to donate towards anything it's going to be to food banks and other organizations, families who have bigger issues to deal with (food, clothing, shelter) than having trouble paying their child's all star cheerleading tutition.  Do you know what I mean?  So I refuse to do it and I will do what I have to do to pay our way.  Now this is just me, I don't have a problem with parents who sell things and work at venues, etc...; I think if they are willing to put in the time they should get the benefits.

[My first question to you would be "How do you know that person has a very high balance?" Did the owners of the gym tell you that, or are you assumming? Because you know what they say about people who assume things. Secondly If you do know that because a gym owner or coach told you that, BE CAREFUL OF WHAT BUISNESS THEY ARE TELLING OF YOURS, because no matter the apperance, EVERYONE has skeleton's including YOU!!!

and my final thing, if the person purchased a ticket, and the raffle was pulled in front on people, say at booster or team meeting then, NEXT TIME BUY MORE TICKETS AND MAYBE YOU WILL WINbiggrin.gif[

Who said this person still owes , there goes that assuming thing again. Doubt that you are a gym owner, (just dont sound smart enough) If you were you would be glad that you could help someone stay in cheer, especially in this economy. Good Luck with your gym

Well sounds to me like your bitter or jealous of the person that won the raffle if your only concern in life is this. If you dont work maybe you should get a job, if that is not appealing maybe you should get a hobby or go to church since it sounds like you need "Jesus" to be so worked up over a obviously needy family wining the booster club raffleconfused.gif

hey everyone in this economy is needy, cheer is not a necessity like food, shelter, and clothing. People's priorties seem so screwed up this days.
