Does anyone have the video of OC's Parent Team from 3 years ago i think it was...it was an absolutly amazing performance. I think every child in that gym was screaming and yelling it was so fun to watch

I hope they have one this year

Parent teams are just embarrassing to watch. I'm sooooooooooooo glad our gym doesn't do this. Even when they try to make the routines funny, I can barely stomach watching them.

Tell me about it- once I made the mistake of having a snack during a CF routine----YIKES!  All that rumblin' of "fluff" all over that stage nearly made my lunch come up!  EEEEEWWWWWWW

I love them!! It really shows the kids that you don't have to be the best team at the competition to have fun!!! I did my daughter's half time parent routine and loved it

Since I was not a former cheerleader, I must say it was a learning experience going out there and realizing what you kids do.  It made me appreciate how hard all the kids work on a team!

Yes, you're absolutely right! We all know our children work hard, but after working out (for my gym, our PT works out once a week, for about 2 hrs) doing what they do, we are sore, and in pain for a week... our kids are at the gym 3 and 4 nights a week between practice, private lessons, tumbling etc... and are fine! lolI guess it just proves that us parents are out of shape in our old age! I wil l say however, its a great workout, and thats always a good thing... aww.gif

Just a thought, why not have your parent team preform at your end of the year get together. I cringe at the thought of watching parent teams. Just looks scary all the middle aged overweight balding sweaty people trying to look like it matters.

Speak for yourself.  I'm sorry you aren't pretty, but our parent team was seriously awesome.  So person with the nasty attitude, run to the snack bar because that is probably the only exercise you get.

Actually, our kids love the fact that their folks do the team.  But then again, those parents that do the parent team aren't usually the stage moms.biggrin
They like having their own thing going.  And I love them.  They are HOT!
Even the judges loved our team.  Gave them and all of us some great entertainment!

I was on the OC team that year. It was tons of fun. My daughter took over my photography role and we switched places!!! It was hysterical!!! I didn't realize till then that you actually can't see the crowd when you're on the mat!!! But I will NEVER forget the sound of the crowd. Boy it did give me a new found respect for the kids. The kids that were embarrassed by their parents got over that really quick. They were so proud after a few practices.

AND I stopped being a sideline coach. Boy, it really IS annoying!!! (Yes she had a blast yelling at me to lock my arms and smile)

If your kids play football are you getting the parent team together to play at halftime what about baseball track swimming how about dance? Why do that to cheerleading. It should be your kids time to shine not Mom or Dads. Work out other ways it comes across as a desperate.
