Can i ask a dumb question?  what is baby momma drama?

My guess would be it is a "figure of speech".  Like no more parents who think thier child is the best one.  Always asking coaches to move them up or put them in the front and when they are not in the front they complain.  Again I am guessing because i see this alot in cheerleading.  I wonder how coaches deal with these parents who think their child is the best one and want them in the front all the time and get upset if their child is not the flyer or in the center spot or has thier own tumbling pass. Coaches if you are reading this I know it is off topic but how do you handle these concerns.

Yep, EVERY gym has their "special" mom. lol We had a mom like that last season. She really and truly in her heart felt as though her daughter was "the best" or as she sometimes called her "The best all around talented cheerleader in the gym..." She was forever talking with the gym owner and staff members wanting to know why her kid didn't have last pass, wasn't point dancer, jumps, stunting, etc...
You have to let it go in one ear, and out the other... and never ever feed into it, that will only make things worse. These moms feed off of that kind of stuff, and it ends up breeding more drama... not fun. We other parents would purposely change the subject to something that didn't even have anything to do with cheer.
It's not going to get better... unless someone puts that parent in their place. hmm.gifI will say however, if you ignore it, she will shut up because no one is paying any attention to her... at least that worked for us...
Good luck...

if im not mistaken two of cheergyms.com most talented cheerleaders left to go to CA even though the gyms are 8 hours away from each other im not sure how that will work out recruited or not, its alot of time and effort from the athletes.

Those 2 athletes grew up with my sons, 1 on the same team and the other was on their competition back in the day.  We also have another athlete who also grew up with my sons and on the same team went off to another team which was also competition and is now on CA with them all.  We have  been on CA Bullets for 2 years now......we make the trek, it's been ruff but well worth our time & effort.

They all practice and tumble together because they have been friends for a very long time.....this year those 3 decided to join CA...they were not recruited....yes they might have been influenced by seeing that we made it work...But they were not recruited....It's great to see so much talent back together again.!  GO CA

LOL...you left NCE because you didn't want to pay for your sons tution, then you went to Motions and tried to work a deal there, but Mortan said no free cheering at cheergyms.  Your son oldest son cheers with someone that was on CA and thats how your sons got to CA.  Cheering for free the first year.  Don't think people know the story.

Everyone knows that places like CA and Top Gun recruit.  Every gym does it.

EXCUSE ME! This is the mother of those sons...let me help you understand! i wouldn't post on a message board and make false accusations. first of all, it's not a very nice thing to do. Secondly, if you really knew the real story you wouldn't be posting anything here about my family.  It's obvious you've been misinformed...You know who I am so come talk to me if you have any other questions.  Our family has no regrets or bad feelings with Nor-Cal....my sons (and I can say many) grew up with the SouthBay/Nor-Cal family.......Everyone knows Xavier, Cameron and Brett all left SouthBay/Nor-Cal to CA.... AND yes money is always an issue for a cheer parent with multiple kids in the sport.  I'm sure they would agree!  BUT that is not the reason the boys left.  Jeff, the CA boy your referring to use to cheer with all of them on SouthBay so yes it made sense to go check it out. The boys decided that it was time to move on with their cheer career and grow and for no other reasons than that. Their older brother Calvin who cheers for Louisville/Gymtyme  (4th year) suggested they make the move too...CA's owner/coaches are alumni of Louisville/Gymtyme so we understood that it was the right place go.  We did inquire about Cheergyms but also decided that wasn't the place for them either.  We were not recruited by CA.....everyone knows that talented athletes are givien scholarships in any sport. whether in high school or college! And yes I can say my sons have talent BUT if you think it was a complete free ride you are sadly mistaken.

Our family shouldn't have to justify the decisions we've made. regardless of people may think, my sons do it because they love and enjoy cheer.

Mother of many in cheer.

Ouch

AGAIN! This thread has ended up bashing other gyms, athletes etc. I was under the impression this was supposed to be a positive topic?! Can we please get back on a more positive note! furious

People, this is cheerleading.  Parents should be spectators and letting the kids
just enjoy the sport of cheerleading.  Just stop already! THese board really show the immaturity of people in this world and I know we have better things we could focus our hatred on.  If everyone just stepped back and let kids be kids, not making the 7 and 8 year olds for example be 7 and 8 year olds i bet there would be a lot more smiles and happy faces around.  Geez i wonder where these kids get the disrepspectful, drama based, nasty attitudes....Hmmmm

again, what the heck does that have to do with cheerleading!!!!  Adults need to keep youth sports in check to lead by example!  You wonder why youth cheer is out of control...PARENTS!  All-star cheer would be in the same boat if we were not able to keep them behind the glass wall. Let kids be kids and focus on the positive!!! Lead by example to make kids not so vindictive and mean, it is ok to be competitive but let's keep it about the sport of cheer not the ugle side of every parents input becuase they have issues in there personal life!
