KUDO's to you!  I agree, everyone needs a break once in awhile and when you are running a gym and/or coaching you don't get much downtime!  cry

Just a comment on the Royals:

Morgan is still coaching the Junior team.  She's been with some of these girls since they were in kindergarten and now they are teenagers.  That's her true love and I'm glad she can step back from some of the administrative stuff and do what she loves!  Corina is still around too.

Bonnie isn't coaching this year, but her girls are still in the program.

You have to remember that Royals coaches are unpaid.  It's a huge amount of time and commitment that these coaches volunteer to the organization.  They have full time jobs and businessees to run on top of coaching and running a cheer gym.

I'm just glad we have an affordable option for our girls to do competitive cheer and I'm grateful for all of the time Morgan, Corina, Bonnie, Cindy and everyone else has put into our gym.

Go Royals!

I'm always so impressed with gyms that do well who don't have the budget as other larger gyms.  How impressive and wonderful it is that these coaches give up their time voluntarily.   Good luck to Royals this coming season, I've always enjoyed watching your teams and will be rooting for you guys!!

Sometimes coaches and owners need breaks too.  During the month of May I have been in the gym but not as active as after 6 years I need some down town.  Our kids got a month off and so did my staff so now I am taking that time too.  I dont see anything wrong with it.  I remember  a couple of years ago Danny and Morton did not coach any teams in the gym and they did fine.  If you train your staff properly your kids will understand that time is needed every so often to stay balanced as a person and as an owner.

I think it's really commendable for anyone that gives their time year after year, whether they are paid or not.

However, I have a problem statement "royal coaches aren't paid."  Tax statement don't lie and coaches were paid and paid well in the 2006-07 cheer season.   All tax statements from every non-profit business are online and viewable.  www.guidestar.net will give you all the details you need on every non-profit organization.  You just need to know how to read tax statements.

In addition, all the coaches' kids and several friends do and did cheer at this gym for free and travel expenses were paid for.  The coaches are given perks.  Not to say this is wrong.  Some of coaches are compensated perhaps not in an actual paycheck every month, but when you don't have to come up competitive cheerleading expenses every month, that is a perk.

no matter if coaches are paid at not at this orginization, as we all know teachers coaches, day care workers etc dont get paid enough for what they do.  I personally wouldve never look up the non profit tax information of a program in my spare time unless it was needed for legal reasons. otherwise its not something i would do.  it is always good to know where you can find educational information, but not at the hands of trying to expose something about someone. use it for your own purpose if needed not to try and put dirt out on someone.  It bothers me beyond words how people feel it necessary to make their issue everyone elses.  fight your own battles and leave others out of it.  as long as royals or any other gym out there are doing things legally, who cares if they compensate their overworked & underpaid coaches.
im a parent who feels that whatever will help our coaches and make things easy for them please make it happen.  i am thankful for the extra curricular activity my kid is involved in. I am happy for this sport and what it has done for her self esteem.  I am thankful for the talent the coaches bring.
good luck royals and all the gyms out there. we appreciate all of you and the sacrafices you make for the little pay you do get.  there isnt enough money in this world to repay a teacher, coach or parent

I'm not here to disprute any of what you are saying.  I'm here to offer facts to this annomyous board.  It's up to every reader, that comes on the board, to determine wrong from right.

I just have a difficult time reading statements that aren't truthful and are leading the board members in the wrong direction.

Non-profits have to hold to a higher standard than a normal porfitable business.  That is evident when you have to publicity show your tax returns and keep the Federal government up to date with your information.

In a general non-profit senario, it is REQUIRED that the membership, of the organization, are FULLY aware of the budget, debt and credits.  It is the responsibility of the non-profit board members to distribute financial statements, get membership approval for large purchases, (just like a PTO - in an elementary school).  They must go to the members and ask for a vote.  Any fundraisings that is done the expenses and profits from each fundraiser needs to be shared with the parents.  The list goes on and on.  The Non-profit organizations have a tough job to do keeping the feds, their members and everyone inbetween informed.  It's tough!!!

Honestly Who Cares.  MY CHILD IS HAPPY.  I think Royal Coaches should make a million dollars each it is NEVER ENOUGH.  They all work full time jobs. I just wish you would leave us alone.   It is so sickening that all you have time to do is come on here and start drama in many forms, there is always a reason for you to come on here and start RUMORS again.  GROW up  I am paying for what I want to pay for.  No matter how bad you try I will NEVER leave royals so GIVE UP.  Good thing this is anonymous or else everyone would know it is you, (hater )

Agreed, non profit or for profit.  You have a choice to be at a gym which means if you dont like it dont go.   Even if they paid their coaches double (which they dont, i want to be clear so that rumor does not start)valmost all non profits have paid employees and it would not be any different from any other gym.  DUH!  how much does the president of the red cross make?  Enough said.  Although I do know first hand they do try to take care of their coaches expenses, It will never be enough for all their hard work and efforts.  I get an affordable program that still ranks high.  My children are all happy, I am happy.  It is affordable for me and I am able to allow more than one child participate.  You think we dont already know this information.  Yes we do!!!!   So whatever you are trying to start wont get you far simply because we already know.  Maintaining a non profit takes 10 times more work than a for profit and they are doing an amazing job.  They can always go for profit it is much easier, but they choose not to because this allows the families like us to fundraise.  The only difference is that Royals is doing the work, where as the gyms that have booster clubs for their non-profit the work is done by the parents. I dont have time to do this work so thank you Royals for doing this for me.   I believe the coaches and Directors have great hearts, they do this because they want too and enjoy it and no other reason.
