Here we are making assumptions again. So let me clear a few things up.
Ok, CA does not have HUGE amounts of cross overs. Yes, we have them-but who doesnt? Lets not be naive. Every gym has them. I dont know if you are talking about large limited have huge amounts or the program but i will try and clarify both. Yes the program has them, and Not in HUGE amounts, and yes, coed has three boys cross over due to the gym having one, and to be competitive you need 4. The two level 5 teams do not cross to each other.
I dont understand why people make crossovers out to be such a big deal. I think this board has been over this issue over and over and over again. Gyms will continue to have crossovers until usasf bans them.

It's true, what is the big deal? If the athletes want to do it, it's their choice. Geez! Let the gym worry about it.

I have several friends on ca that cross compete, but does this mean they have a HUGE amount of crossovers? Not at all. There is nothing wrong with crossovers in my opinion, as long as they compete with that team all season I dont mind. I say more ower to all you crossovers you do twice the amount of work as everyone else.

I am curious to know why this always becomes such a big deal. the only gym i know of that doesnt use cross overs is stingrays. Otherwise, i am at a loss. If you people are naive enough to believe cali is the only gym using crossovers you are very wrong. I will say though, At least their athletes are cross competing in the same level as opposed to dropping down. Bullets are going to have enough kids to go to worlds regardless and will do awesome. There is so much talent in the gyms right now.
Also, for all you haters that bash on gyms for cross overs, id love to know what gyms you are at. My guess, a gym that uses them as well.

Even though some of their boys did drop down last year...
noone really cares, it's all about what you bring to the floor, and remember you might think your routine is the bomb at your own gym..but when you get outside in the real cheer world, your stuff is just wack.
here's how i look at the crossover "issue." for the most part, its not against the rules. and when it is, then the gyms don't use them. but if its not against rules, then its not cheating and there's nothing wrong with it.
as for the "moral" issues behind it, these are kids who love their gyms and programs so much they want to make them look as good at every level as possible. or kids who love the sport so much they want to be on every team possible. or people "subbing" in for an injured kid because they want to help out. if you ask me, those are all innocent reasons to cross over. if motions had a second "lower level" senior team while i was still competing, you can bet i wouldn't have thought twice about crossing over!
yes, those reasons can be viewed as an attempt to "beat a certain other team." but the bottom line is, this is a team sport. its about the overall impression that a gym or team puts on the floor, not about how good a handful of kids on that team look. and isn't it EVERYONE'S goal to put the best possible product on the floor regardless of level or division?? i think the answer is yes! if it were YOU'RE gym, wouldn't you try to give EVERY team in you're gym every LEGAL advantage possible?
all star cheer is a competitive sport. sometimes you'll win, sometimes you'll lose. some gyms will be superior over others. thats the way competition works.
