I heard that Royals has 7 Teams (including their 2 dance teams).  This is not confirmed it is what a heard from a Royal Parent.  Also I head UCF is 2 Teams and Edge has one team plus thier entire Elk grove Herd Organization..  Again this is just what I heard so not yet confirmed.  My daughter is taking the year off we need financial and a mental break from Cheerelading.  Will return after a break.

To clarify some of the facts for Royals, they currently have 4 cheer teams. Mini, Jr 3, Sr 2 open and Sr 4/5. On the dance side will probably have 2 teams as they have had in the past.

I don't royals has 4 teams and 2 dance teams beacuse last season they had a tiny team and a youth team ? So are you affiliated with royals ?

Face it Cheer Xplosion. You were not good enough to hang on your own so you merged with Nor Cal. You cant have it both ways. Your gym is Nor Cal Livermore. Bye bye cheer explosion

Another one bites the dust. RIP CX

From the NorCal Website - so now you know.

Nor Cal NewsApril 12, 2008

Nor Cal Elite and Cheer Xplosion would like to officially announce that they have joined together to serve two locations in the Silicon Valley.Nor Cal Elite San Jose and Nor Cal Elite Livermore. The San Jose location will be under the direction of Roy Adam Lucas. The Livermore location will be under the direction of Roy Adam Lucas and Kathleen Gonzales. The combined strength of two locations will benefit all our teams from beginning Level 1 to advanced Level 6.Our strength together, will have over 12 teams & 200 kids with the 2008-2009 season being bigger, better, stronger.

Both locations will utilize the skill of innovative choreographer Roy Adam Lucas.Roy as Head Coach of the San Jose location has been awarded multiple National titles. In his first season with Nor Cal Elite, Roy took his advanced Senior Coed Level 5 team to the 2007 USASF Cheerleading Worlds. Roy and the Senior Coed Level 5 team will be contenders again this season at the 2008 USASF Cheerleading Worlds. Kathleen Gonzales as Head Coach of the Livermore location has been awarded countless National titles in her 8 years of all-star cheerleading. This past season Kathleen and her Senior Level 3 team received a Full Paid Bid to the 2008 Final Destination. Our combined staff has over 50 years experience in the cheer industry and will work hard to make your athlete, our team and our program successful.

Even Better Together

I liked CX's routines...

People say such awful things and you know they are not from nce. The two programs merged together is how it was presented to us, no one ever said they bought out, purchased or anything in those terms.

Bottom line, is there are now two locations for nce.  We look forward to a great season and welcome the wonderful change!! Best of luck to the program

Cheer tyme owner you are on here quite a bit, is this rumor true?

My opinion if it is, you guys at ct are awesome program and you def. Don't need to merge w them. We love your gym and owners. You amy are in a class of your own as far as how others in the industry look to you. You get what I mean without me putting down anyone.

Keep strong ct

okay so I dont see how NorCal keeps getting more and more kids every year. They go to comps that NO ONE attends and they are ALWAYS competing against themsleves so of course they win. IF and when they do go to comps with other succesful teams they dont win. GSSA san jose last year i think only ONE NorCal team won (Level 3 coed) and that was a mistake...i was there.
I mean they got into Worlds this year by something like a double passed down bid. Lord knows. AND I mean their all girl team and their coed team from 07-08 was pretty much the SAME team minus a few girls and added a few boys. They spent more money traveling to diffrent places to get a bid than they did to go to worlds (for ONE day!) anyways.. idk I just fail to understand how they get athletes to return epesially with all the gyms that are open in the same city. Fame, Motions/cheergyms, and California Crush. Its a mystery to me. I mean if I was a parent their I would be EXTREMELY irritated what with all the injuries that come out of that gym every season.

ahh I know that was bad but I just feel someones time could be better spent with other gyms. hmm.gif

"okay so I dont see how NorCal keeps getting more and more kids every year" - sounds like jealousy to me

"They go to comps that NO ONE attends"  - simply not true.  Because you are not at the same comps does not mean they are running from other teams but possibly the opposite.  The schedule was put out last August and the program stuck to that schedule regardless of who was attending.

"IF and when they do go to comps with other succesful teams they dont win" - first of all this is simply not true second of all it is not all about the win at NorCal.  It is about achieving goals individual and team related.

"only ONE NorCal team won (Level 3 coed) and that was a mistake" - that is nice of you.  Why is it a mistake.  If you were there you would know it wasn't a mistake the team that performed the best with a combined score of BOTH days won.  Sorry that divas fired their coach the night before day 2 - and lost kids because of it - oh sorry, is diva's fame now...ummm, ok, I would flock to that gym.

"I mean their all girl team and their coed team from 07-08 was pretty much the SAME" - and?  your point is??  they had two different and entertaining routines

"They spent more money traveling to diffrent places to get a bid than they did to go to worlds (for ONE day!)" - they went to one additional trip this year and were awarded an at large bid not handed down (all girl).  One day/Two day the worlds experience was worth it.  The kids had a great time and are even more motivated for next season.

"idk I just fail to understand how they get athletes to return epesially with all the gyms that are open in the same city. Fame, Motions/cheergyms, and California Crush" - you said it, you don't know. Do you even read these boards do you even see that people are not only at gyms for the win - some are, but not all.  "Fame" - new gym with a shady past as I said before, why flock there, "Motions/Cheergyms" - a nice competitive gym a good stong option for cheer.  "California Crush" - they are new and were in the cheer divas/legends gssa fiasco again, why flock there.

"I mean if I was a parent their I would be EXTREMELY irritated what with all the injuries that come out of that gym every season" - nice slander.  I agree the injuries were bad two seasons ago.  Last year the staff took training with specific emphasis on reduceing cheer injuries.  It paid off.  Why do you keep going back to the past get over it - no one talks about the injuries at other gyms and YES they existed last year but you don't see that being 'mentioned' everytime those teams are mentioned.

NorCal is a well rounded program that is growing.  Perfect, no. But no one is.  Willing to change to make themselves better, yes. Fun, yes.  Family Oriented, yes.  Good fundraising to help off set cost of cheer, yes.  In it for themselves and their ego's, NO.

Get off your high horse and look into your house not others.  Clean it up and you too will flourish.

Definitely a post from a competitive gym who is feeling sour grapes over the fact that athletes do flock to NCE, for whatever reason.   I have quite a few friends who cheer at various gyms, and I can tell you the ones that cheered at NCE last season will be returning there this season because they love it.  They say it is a family, so I guess you wouldn't understand until you're part of it.  To say that NCE only goes to competitions nobody else attends is ridiculous.  I can think of so many other gyms that statement really applies to, especially the small ones who do not have strong teams.  NCE must be doing something right to have two of their teams earn bids to Worlds, and to go to Worlds two years in a row (they've only been around two years, right)?   Let's see how the other gyms you mention do this season before spouting off and slamming a gym you obviously have some kind of personal grievance against.  You really need to let it go and concentrate on whatever gym has the privilege of having you as a member?

Come on people get a grip on yourselves.  The first post bashing NCE was tacky and showed no class.  But in your response you equally bashed two other gyms.  These posts make you both look bad.  Please stop acting like two year olds.

This is a good point because we really don't know who posted the tacky bash on NCE, and it isn't fair to bash the new gyms (at least in my post I said let's see how they do this season).   What a joy that person must be to have around, that's all I have to say......

Ok. Yes I did bash two (actually four if you include divas and legends) and yes it was tacky. Sorry. But i am pretty sure that the original post came from the coaches or owners of one of those two gyms since they were so upset about the Sr Coed 3 team placing higher than them at gssa. I apologise I was caught up in the moment. CA Crush and Fame good luck this year. NCE sorry for making the program look bad I am so proud of everyone and was caught up in the moment. weirdface

I think it is so funny how people come on here and bash NCE. Hey guys, cheergyms pathetic gym in San Jose has like 30 kids. You wan to talk about double teaming look at the junior team and ther coed team. LOTS OF THE SAME FACES.

Cheergyms provides this lovely forum where everyone can get bashed and they are the wosr offenders. NorCal kicks motions butt in every sense of the word. More teams, better teams, better gym....

You think Norcal sucks..... You better look in the mirror cuz motions sucks more. Don't come on here and say it isnt Motions bashing because it most likely... Just wanted to point out that what ever Norcal is, Motions is 10 times worse.

For the record this is just one person's point of view, not NCE's.  I love Motions, they have talented teams and the AA team did awesome at Worlds.

Motions is a class act, Morton wouldn't have it any other way. I'm glad to see that no one responded to the "bashing". I highly doubt these are Motions kids simply because I've heard almost all of their program this year is brand new.

On a side note, they are a great example of a gym that's never needed to be big to make a statement. I don't think they've ever had more than 3 teams in a single season. If anything, they've proven that numbers don't matter, its all about the training. Any that they definitely have.

Two paid bids to World's two years in a row, not to bad for a gym of 30. Best of luck to everyone. In the end, it only matters what you put on the floor. And I'm sure they're 30 kids will be amazing.

Love,

An alumni
